Heard we can't compete with Stockport or Wrexham on wages this season and Stockport in particular are offering much higher wages than Mansfield in lge 2

Madden is on £4k a week.

Madden & Quigley up top is incredible for non league. Be very surprised if Stockport don’t win the title!

Are Barrow still Manchester based other than matches? Because if so, Quigley putting ‘I need to move closer to home after a family member’s death’ and then moving to a club in (effectively please don’t shout at me) the same city is amazing stuff.

Those of us not in the Brotherhood are sitting in the back, eating popcorn and watching the beginning of the breakup happen before our eyes. Forget the nWo, this is way better.

Wrexham and Grimsby in Brotherhood Hollywood. Stockport in the other Brotherhood corner.

If Stockport don’t go up automatically with a front 3 of Madden Quigley and Whitfield and the likes of Rooney behind then Rusk should never manage again.

Runaway favourites now.

At least he won't have to go to Barrow for games I suppose.

We are literally 20 minutes from his family home. You gotta laugh.

Why would you mention that if you know you’re moving to Stockport hahaha. I almost respect it.

Their training ground is in Knutsford! (alothough talk of developing one in Barrow itself)

Stockport Train in Carrington which is approx 10 miles North of Knutsford.

Petty change distance wise, but as you say for him to say he needs to move closer to home then do that is a proper Shithouse move

Don't worry I'm not entirely serious.

I still like Stockport for giving us Peter Ward, and also swapping us Martin Chalk for Kieron Durkan
Not important if it was serious. It was still quality and has a ring of truth.
You don't know who you might sign yet and could end up with some surprises. There are a lot of good players without clubs.

We can only hope it ends well for them. Good luck to them.
Aye, my rage is more directed at the twats telling us on our forum that we were signing him. One even claimed he was in for a medical!

Good luck Stockport, hope we can join you in League Two next season. I guess the one solace is that besides Stockport, no one is really building a seriously impressive team.

What we're putting into the budget on the pitch is small compared to plans off it. New training ground planned, ground developments. Stott's just purchased Stockport Town who are going to be a feeder club for us so we can really build our academy up. It's long term planning stuff that has been most impressive. Short term signing like this are to to get us moving back to the football league.

Good luck to you lot, really. I guess at some point we will follow suit but we are taking a more sustainable path. Our bank account must be a lot more healthy at least but we've got little to show for it so far. Still very early days though so no point getting wound up about it.

This one hurt a little though as I really thought it was on.

We are 18 months behind Stockport after all, and a lot of groundwork still needs doing on our side.

As they are stuffed full of our ex players (pretty much all of whom I liked) I will bear them no ill will if they win the league, although it will be easier to say that if we also go up.

Ours is circa 850k for Ian Moore which we recouped from Burnley plus a bit. Whether or not we get Quigley I'm uncertain but I AM CERTAIN we will be getting a high rated striker in before the season starts. I can't really comment on what other seemingly nouveau riche clubs such as Wrexham & Grimsby are going to spend but from what I've seen so far our chairman is the real deal. Not all of our fans agree with everything Stott (chairman) has done and the replacing of Gannon is still a very sore point for many but I think everyone agrees that he really wants the best for the club and will continue to put his (serious) money where his mouth is.
We've said we'll be running at a loss, but looking at our signings it's not gonna be an astronomical one. We've signed ten players I think so far and haven't paid a fee so there'll be nothing like a 500k strike force at Blundell Park. I knew Stockport were Going For It™ but didn't quite realise how much so until today. Didn't realise Madden was 250k and is on 5K, that's insane!
