I reckon Andrew's will stay with you for the rest of the season. We do need to bring in another forward. However Andrew's is unlikely to be recalled.

Interesting - I think his loan is due to expire in the next few days so think we’ll find out soon either way.
He’s been excellent for us btw, often extremely isolated and the system doesn’t always look like it suits him (lone striker) but he works really hard, good finisher and always seems to trouble defences. Definitely think he could do the business in L2, not sure he’d be ready for L1 yet though.
How’s Chislett getting on for you lot?

Yea strange one, he's bad, they've got 2 better strikers already?
Hyde barely plays though as he's a crock, we need someone there to bring Mullin into the game as Ponticelli is useless. Personally I'd like to see what Kwame Thomas could do with Mullin but they've barely played together as Kwame is still probably recovering from a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Surely Wrexham will ping in a cheeky bid for Hudlin. Always seems to be on the bench and not scored a single goal for Solihull this season. Ardley clearly not a fan (but then he never was at our place of players he hadn’t signed himself)

the City rumours seem to have quietened on him now, did he actually go on trial?

This. A thousand times this.
Not sure when the last side to win the league played really pretty football was, maybe Yeovil in the early 2000’s who I remember playing really good passing football so anyone knocking hoofball is very naive. We have a team of ‘footballers’ currently which is nice but several times a match fail to do the basics in defending or playing in the wrong areas and are regularly punished.

Conversely, when was the last time a proper hoofball team got promoted? The sides that have gone up since we’ve been down here just mainly seemed to be well organised with a bit of pace and decent legs in midfield/attack to be able to press and get about the pitch effectively

Mansfield Town, team of powerhouse donkeys who loved hoofing it

Depends what you define as hoofball, Barrow had the big man up top in Quigley and would play into him and use their wingers they can’t be described as a passing team. This level football should be simple, Sutton we’re masters at shithousing and playing into the channels very little football played by them until the final third when their wingers got them going after gaining territory, they had donkeys at the back (which is all you need at this level) who couldn’t play football rarely a pass out the back was made like you see some at this level trying to do. Play the percentages at this level and you’ll do better than those that try to play like Barcelona, which is why part time teams use to do really well and still do ok at this level, but the money at the top is now changing that.

Barrow, surely? They played some great stuff.

Just seen above - I think you can have a big man up top and still be a footballing side. I mean, we’ve got Wootton up there and I don’t think anyone could describe us as anything else.

Stockport County.
Sutton were big and direct. Nothing wrong with it but they were. They tended to use the long throw whenever they had one.

Telling a team they're direct is always made out like you're insulting them. But a team who just pass it round the back all the time like we did under Rusk are far worse on the eye IMO. I quite like my team getting the ball in the box and playing through the field a bit quicker. We've become "more direct" under Challinor but it's 100% better football and a higher quality too. It's quicker, we look to spread play earlier and we get the wing backs higher up and get the ball in the box where Challinor says he always wants 3-4 players in there to attack it. It's by definition more direct than Rusk's but not overly so and as I say it's 100% better football in my eyes.

Liverpool are direct in my opinion. They get the ball up to Salah, Mane etc as quick as they can and try and score in 5-10 seconds of getting the ball back. If they have sustained possession they push their full backs on who whip balls in all day and get men in the box. They're the most entertaining team in the PL at the moment IMO. Far more entertaining than Man City's pass, pass, pass kill you with a thousand cuts.

Longball, aimless hoofball is shite and it's shite for a reason hence why those teams do rarely go up. Funnily enough Ruskball could end up being aimless hoofball because once we were finished passing it round the back and were put under pressure we'd get it forward but no fucker was expecting it.

We are direct but I wouldn't call it hoofball (usually although sometimes there are a few too many aimless diagonal passes) Certainly not compared to what Keates had us do.

When you think about direct promoted teams Mansfield are certainly the first ones that come to mind. I mean they went up with Exodus Geohagan in their team.

I want to say Lincoln with Rhead up front, but surely the Cowleys played fluid passing instead... and before that Mansfield with the same lump up top

We played some decent stuff, always 2 wingers on the pitch plus overlapping full backs, and Danny's Whitaker and Whitehead pulling the strings. But then we did add Nathan Blissett as a much needed focal point in January which let us mix it up when needed.

Danny Whitaker… unbelievable player for us when we won league 2 in 2010/11 season. Think he got something ridiculous like 15 league goals from midfield.. loved him that year!

Turned pretty shite from season after onwards though if I’m being honest  although the whole team was useless in league 1 so he wasn’t alone. Couldn’t believe how long he carried on playing for, isn’t he still officially player/manager at Macclesfield!!??

York were a good footballing side under Mills. Weren't Fleetwood quite direct under Mellon, just hitting Vardy all the time? Kiddy didn't quite make it up but there were easy on the eye as well.

We got labelled as being more direct than we actually were purely because of having Rhead in the side. We scored a lot of goals from work out wide with Habergham and Arnold/Hawkridge on the left and Wood Anderson/Ginnelly on the right.

He was a class above conference when he came down again, and continued to chip in with a good return of goals.

Yeah officially he's still player/manager but I think has only ever been in the match day squad once right at the start of the season when we were struggling for players. We don't need a 41 year old Whits playing when we've got 39 year old Neil Danns in there already!

No player could get close to 52 year old Whitaker when he was down here, hell of a player.

a very very weak rumour has surfaced that we are signing someone this afternoon.

We just beat a fellow brothers youth team 6-1 and the person we are signing is Yorkshire based and therefore our media team have gone up with the youth.... no names mentioned though

Yeah I’d concur with this, a good example being when we played them away for an hour we murdered them playing some really good stuff but just couldn’t stick it in the net.
Then they bring on Matt Rhead and first thing he does is head home straight from a corner and they end up beating us 2-0.
