Latest everyone trying to buy our players update:

Rodrigues - Rotherham
Wootton - Portsmouth
Roberts - Hartlepool (surely they haven’t got the money?)

Burchnall says he’d be surprised if anyone came in with what we’d see as a realistic bid for any of them ‘this window’.

a very very weak rumour has surfaced that we are signing someone this afternoon.

We just beat a fellow brothers youth team 6-1 and the person we are signing is Yorkshire based and therefore our media team have gone up with the youth.... no names mentioned though

Interesting - I think his loan is due to expire in the next few days so think we’ll find out soon either way.
He’s been excellent for us btw, often extremely isolated and the system doesn’t always look like it suits him (lone striker) but he works really hard, good finisher and always seems to trouble defences. Definitely think he could do the business in L2, not sure he’d be ready for L1 yet though.
How’s Chislett getting on for you lot?
Glad Andrew's is doing well for you.Chislett has struggled to get into the team to be honest. He's not really made an inpact.I reckon he could be gone in the summer.

We've got money to spend in January, probably not Cal 'Puskas' Roberts money, still a glass ankles?

He might fancy a reunion with Sterry, little Geordie love in

He’s not got injured yet this season, to be fair. Not been quite the same player mind, but that’s probably because we don’t play with wingers any more so are trying to turn him into a central midfielder.

Him and Sterry are best mates - when we tried to sign the latter in the summer and your press were on about us offering him a house, it was more ‘you can share Cal’s flat’.

Not sure when the last side to win the league played really pretty football was, maybe Yeovil in the early 2000’s who I remember playing really good passing football so anyone knocking hoofball is very naive. We have a team of ‘footballers’ currently which is nice but several times a match fail to do the basics in defending or playing in the wrong areas and are regularly punished.

We are direct but I wouldn't call it hoofball (usually although sometimes there are a few too many aimless diagonal passes) Certainly not compared to what Keates had us do.

When you think about direct promoted teams Mansfield are certainly the first ones that come to mind. I mean they went up with Exodus Geohagan in their team.
Really? It’s prime hoofball under old Parky, he knows no different see Bradford and the giant Hanson for his last successful hoofball outfit.. You spent hundreds of thousands on a long thrown in merchant. Like I said it’s not a bad thing and likely to bring results, you might get the odd football goal from your extravagant signings but the main aim is direct and fast territorial football.

There is a difference between direct play and aimless hoofing. We may play Hoofball but its a world away from what we were playing last season which often was just knock it long and hope for the best.

I mean it's not like we've got a Paul McCallum up front...

What I think we can all agree with is that in this league it doesn't matter how you get out, just so long as you fucking do. No extra points for style in the footballing dungeon

Direct or hoofball is the same, surely you’ve been down here long enough to realize that. Probably why McCallum looks dire for us we don’t play to his strengths.

No direct football is effective, and can even be exciting and good to watch . Hoofball is not effective and its boring. I've seen enough non league amd lower league football to know the difference.

No names but our resident ITK on our messageboard just said he expects our signings thread to be busy in the next few weeks.

Rumoured that Big Dave wants to bring three players. Should imagine we’ll see a similar amount go out as well.

Zero rumours for us. Makes a pleasant change from the years under the Trust where we knew a signing was happening 12 weeks in advance.

Yep Zeki Fryers out and Raikhy gone back to Villa. Can only imagine Fish will go back to United and there's 2 or 3 other lads (Reid, Walker, Newby) off the top of my head who could be elsewhere.

Three players I'd go for a LCB, CM and a back up for Quigley.

Chesterfield's dodgy money is insane.

They'll be dining out on this trip to Stamford Bridge for about 10 years. It'll be the explanation for all their 6 figure signings they make.

Think we can all agree we don’t want any beef with the County lot. They’re a nice bunch, and I apologise that we’ve allegedly made a move for your lad. Can we interest you in a swap deal for Stefan Payne, mayhaps? We do enjoy players coming and going between our clubs after all.

What was it Fergie said back in the day about not even selling Real Madrid a virus?

Weird link, though. I could actually see Roberts maybe being a bit frustrated about playing out of position here, but Chesterfield are a more staunch 3-5-2/3-6-1 outfit than we are. A bit of pot stirring, I would guess.

Peasants like Stockport might be content with six-figure signings but we'll be dealing in millions now.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, is he an out and out winger who you’ve got playing AMC? He’d only be doing same for us.
In all honesty it’d be a sideways move at this moment in time and it ain’t gonna happen.

Calma calma. This football club works to a budget and we're proud of it. Getting players out the door as we speak to free up funds for Challinor.

great banter from Chesterfield. As Jacob said, could see how Roberts might get frustrated as he’s gone from our best player to not being guaranteed a start and playing out of position but…we don’t need to sell and his contract situation means we don’t have to unless it’s a very good fee either

When he played as a right winger in a 4-4-2 after we first signed him he was genuinely devastating. Best run of form a Notts player has had since we had young Grealish on loan. Everything we did went through him. While he was injured, Burchnall came in and switched us to 3-5-2 and we’ve been flying since, so stuck with it. We’ve turned him into a fairly orthodox central midfielder basically, where he’s good with the ball and a bit of a liability without it. Doesn’t get the same chance to run at people, though - it’s hard to tell whether him being good rather than great this season is down to changing position or a year out injured.

But he would be playing with the best striker in the world. That has to be tempting.

I'd sooner have Rodrigues. Let's go get him. He can slot in at 10 till Jack Clarke is back. I'm sure we've got some shit squad players we don't want in return if they want, they seem to like them?

Basically you’ve turned Ronaldo into Tom Cleverley
