Yep. Here's a couple of photos I've quickly found that prove your point. A unique looking family.

Deverdics is being looked at by Hartlepool and Doncaster.
I remember him being at the Heed and thinking you will be taking calls next to me at work soon.

How wrong I was I would love him back now

Also The Heed could be getting a decent amount of cash if Marcus Maddison is sold to Sunderland from Peterborough. We have a 25% sell on clause price about 3million

Suggestions in our local newspaper that Scott Rendell might have been talking to Aldershot (hopefully just to tell them to fuck off and leave him alone).

Rendell & Raggett are also being strongly linked with Eastleigh.

Yes, wouldn't surprise me to see Rendell at Eastleigh. Donald brazenly contributing the balance of the targeted fundraising amount for Rendell last season obviously wasn't an entirely selfless gesture.

After being sold a vision, obviously.

This the same vision that Richard Duffy dropped two divisions to get involved in?

Maybe I'm being naïve but it would be a strange move for a young player with huge potential to turn down league football to join Eastleigh. Plenty of time to sign for Eastleigh and get a payday when he's 34+

You're assuming Eastleigh will still be around in 4 years time.

Yeah the conversation with Duffy will have been something like this:

"Richard let me show you our vision to be in League 1 in 5 years time."
"But i already play my football in League 1."
"Erm, ok how about have this big wad of cash instead then?"
"Done"!

Washbourne was a youngster Hockaday signed as a first year pro here a few seasons back. Looked a decent prospect in reserve games, usually played in midfield (occasionally in a front 3) had a nice touch and sprayed it around a bit. Went on loan to Ciren and Gloucester I think, where he did fairly well.

Given our huge squad at the time and the way Hockaday kept signing players, it was always going to be difficult for youngsters to get a proper chance. Glad to see he's done alright for himself since then.

Washbourne was pretty awful. He only played 4 games for City and was subbed in every single one of them. That was 4 years ago to be fair though.

Matt Rhead has had a transfer request accepted, the lure of playing for Barrow too strong it seems.

Yep, money talks unfortunately so if we can get a decent wedge (40k+-ish) at least then it would be money that could get a replacement. It's no surprise at all, Rhead didn't look the same player the last couple of months when he only scored one goal was it? Am sure his head was turned by a bigger pay packet which Barrow will no doubt offer him. I am not sure the high press/high work rate and fitness mentality of the Cowleys would suit Matts style of play when they signed so for me that sealed his departure.

Thanks Rheady and enjoyed those goals, he will hopefully get a good reception when he returns to SB.

Rhead is 32. Would be surprised if you get 40k for him.

I did say IF, think with one year left on his contract he will go for a reasonable sum. Danny did say in the local paper that he won't leave unless a figure comes in to match his valuation. Even though Rheady is the wrong side of 30, I expect Barrow (because I expect them to be his next club) to pay around 30k-40k.

He's probably pissed off that he managed to be involved in 64% of our goals last season (got that from an Echo article) and managed to get pipped to all the awards by, of all positions, a right back!

There wasn't a chance in hell he'd go on to score 20-25 goals for us again next season because we'll not play the same way. We played to his strengths last season, something Barrow will do this season. Sounds as though he's been offered silly money at Barrow and we first rejected his request a month back, but we didn't have a manager.

It'll be good for all parties. Barrow get a good player who'll be perfect for Cox-ball, Rhead gets a massive pay rise, we get some money for a player who's 31, had one good season of goal scoring in his career and wouldn't have fitted in with the Cowley's (going off what they've been saying about their recruitment i.e. generally go for U24's, mobile, pace).

I'd personally play hardball with it. We've got 6 weeks or so to hold out for a good deal.

Anyone else Cox wants to unsettle? I'd suggest Bush. Please.
