We tried Newton in a wing-back position and he's not as good. He ends up standing in the space he'd usually run into.

Maybe he was standing there so he could be closer to Jon Nolan.

Wing back looked like it suited him last season.

Dover have offered Omar Beckles a contract.

They were in for him in January but he rejected them saying he wanted to stay full-time.

Hey Luke ... have you signed anyone yet? I thought we were the only team that hadn't signed anyone, but someone on DC suggested you haven't either.

I think we've established that neither Nolan or Newton liked playing for Lincoln.

Newton loved it.

Nope.

We've had no word on those who were offered contracts either, so there's some work to be done over the next 4 weeks! Mind you, we have 11 (I think) under contract so not a complete re-build.

Not sure where 'shunter blue' got "loads of ££££££" from. He obviously knows more than we do!

Oh nice. Excellent surname too.

The person on RedPassion seems to think Mills is meeting him on Tuesday. We'll see.

There was a rumour on our forum that we were potentially in for Tilt as well.

Would probably say Lincoln are doing better out of the deal to be honest, however Barrow seem to be putting together a good squad so can see them challenging the play offs next season.

I'd say there are....rather proves what it will be like watching Barrow next year doesn't it, am envious of the money they and Gateshead 'appear' to have. £25K for Rhead...staggering
Any more news on Deverdiks going to the latter

I've heard we may be signing an ex-player in the next couple of days... a defender.

And us speaking to Scott Rendell was true, unsure if he will come here though and we've also made contact with another Woking player who played nearly every game last season.

Cheye Alexander has re-signed I believe and after a deal fell through with Crawley, Rhys Browne could be staying too.

I know who we're signing tomorrow morning. Not a name that's been mentioned previously, and on paper it's a great addition.

Keith Lowe has said it's a choice between his heart and his head whether he signs for us. He's had interest from National League clubs apparently but it would involve travel.

Are you saying that the Australian money has fallen through?

Never has been any Australian money. South African.

Depends if you call £100k/season into the budget 'loads', I suppose.

A million or so over 5 years, but think Nates will bring more than just money with other contacts and experience. We won't be a FGR or an Eastleigh ie bankrolled but every little bit of extra cash certainly helps.

Rumours that Barrow have activated a release clause in Ritchie Sutton's contract and that he has left to go there. Nothing confirmed, so I'll put it in the rumours section.

I hope so - he was outstanding on loan last season

Would be very surprised to see him at PP next season after being frozen out by Brabin last season.

Gateshead/Halifax fans? We've just signed CJ Hamilton. You reckon he's good enough for L2?

It's true. Rooney is joining, fucking hell Mills. This is the Jennings replacement but without the workrate.

Anthony "used to be a brilliant player 5 years ago but has been injured almost non-stop since" Barry is signing as well.

I'd say that's now officially Wrexham not going for it.

Not going to write off the signings like Wrexham fans seem to almost always do when we sign someone, without seeing them play :ffs:
I'm a big believer in that someone can be a better fit at a different club and a change can be very good for them. Jon Walters comes to mind. He was pretty useless here, apart from a work rate, then he left, joined Chester and must have done something right as Ipswich signed him.
As for Barry, how he does is obviously dependant on him staying fit which I'm sure we're aware of. Can't doubt his quality and experience, been there, done that in this league.
