Our triallists this weekend include Henoc Mukendi, Stefan McCluskey (from Morton), a player from Australia's A League, and players released by Birmingham and Cheltenham (any ideas?).

Henoc is apparently the brother of Vinny, who is often mentioned in "worst player ever" threads on our board. That's about all i can offer.

Yeah, I assumed he'd be related - also among our "worst player ever" contenders too! We signed him from you, and he played about three times before being released.

Ex Cambridge, Coventry, Northampton and Yeovil keeper Chris Dunn is training with us with view to signing as back up for Jalal and doing some goalkeeper coaching.

He sounds like someone too good to be a second choice in the Conference. Played the entire 14-15 season for Cambridge in L2?

Strange about the coaching bit given his age, but when asked about looking forward to being Wrexham's number one, Jalal did mention that there would be competition for places throughout the squad and he wasn't taking anything for granted. Maybe, after realising that there isn't anyone from the youth team good or ready enough to step up, Mills is going to have two mature keepers fighting it out to get in the starting 11 next season.

Or maybe he's planning to play Dunn as a holding midfielder.

We have winger Jordan Nicholson on trial from Peterborough, with a view of a loan deal and a couple of trialists are coming in on Monday.

James Caton still training with us while we try and sort a deal out for him.

And anyone who is English and supports a Welsh non-league team is also worth keeping an eye on. From a safe distance, of course.

Lots of English people support Wrexham, what with it being a handful of miles from the Border and all. Chester have Welsh fans. Not that odd really.

It's about the chance for him to get into coaching, that will be crucial to the move, but a more than capable keeper to have as back up, good move.

Cooper has said there will be some departures before the season starts.

One or two rumours that Keanu Marsh-Brown might be one of them, I'm sure there would be some interest if he's made available.

More likely to be Parkin I reckon, doesn't really fit Coopers style which requires pressing from the front (good Plan B or C mind).

Good shout with Parkin as, even though he has had some fairly decent games in a more withdrawn role (I don't mean stood outside Greggs in Stroud), I can't really see him having enough pace to get in the team. Half the problem last season was that the wide men made their runs, put their crosses into the box, but none of the forwards had arrived to convert them. I think Kurtis Guthrie might feel the pressure too, the manager will doubtless give him a chance, but of late he has run far too hot and cold.

Spotted Ryan Lowe in Chester today. What's he up to these days. Potential forward for a conference club?

Just signed for Crewe Alexandra, really liked Ryan Lowe when we had him at Hillsborough but he was old then, credit to him that he's still playing at Football League level 4 years later.

One of my all-time favourite Chester players.

Love it if he ended his playing career with us, but he's 36 now I think.

He's nailed on to sign for Eastleigh soon, might be a bit young at the moment though.. :shifty:

Barrow AFC: Andy Coughlin, Glenn Belezika, Darren Holden, Abu Sonogo, Julian Barton, Brad Beatson, Zack Kotwica, Oliver Norburn, Liam Molesworth, Scott Fenwick, Omari Sterling-James.

Substitutes (all used): Patrick Udoh, Tommy Raheem, Dan MacFarlane, Henoc Mukendi, Danny Uchechi, Matty Hamilton.

Danny Uchechi is probably one of the strangest signings we ever made, think Milan Mandaric signed him about 5 years ago and he featured in a 20 minute cameo in a JPT game never to be seen again.

It's funny how when we were relegated in 2009 and Lowe was our top scorer, and despite being 30 he said he wasn't quite ready to drop in to the Conference, and some of us were sceptical. He's had a hell of a career since then, fair play.

Only a few names I recognise: Coughlin always seemed okay, but must surely be only an option as back up? Norburn is decent, but again, can't see him as first choice, Fenwick did okay for Hartlepool and I think we were linked with him in January.
I think McFarlane is a teenager from Australia, and Hamilton has been at Stockport, Holden at Gateshead, and a couple released by Cheltenham in there too.

Fenwick failed to impress in his loan spell with Rovers last season, he'd looked half-decent when playing for Pools. Coughlin started at Rovers, but doesn't seemed to have impressed at Wrecsam or Port. Thought Norburn looked ok at Guiseley, wonder if they're trying to distance themselves from THAT goal he scored v Braintree or was it his decision to move on?

Norburn definitely has the quality he just never seemed to be fit enough to put in the hard work required in midfield.

No way we'd sell our best player. Yes he can be inconsistent but he was our only real threat in the final.
