Expect him in a Cheltenham shirt by Friday then...
Echo what E10Rifle says, very much ready to make the step up and too good for this league.

We offered him a new contract in the summer, which is still being discussed.

He has one year left on his current deal, but I honestly couldn't say what our owners will do. If we sell him now we will need to replace him ASAP, but we may well gamble on waiting for him to run his contract down as we aim for promotion this season, or we may wait till January.

Literally anything could happen with him! In 12 months time he could a free agent and in even more demand.

18 year old midfielder Harry Vince is on trial with us according to fans on our forum. Ran the game when he came on against Coalville and set up our 3rd goal. Any Boston fans know anything about him?

He was. In the 15/16 season he started off rather poor but when we got Jim Harvey in as manager he scored something ridiculous like 11 in 9. Barnsley snapped him up in January and it’s gone downhill for him ever since. Been pretty poor in every loan spell he’s had including his loan spell with us last season. By all accounts has a slight attitude problem as well.

Ok Ben cheers. He’d be cover for Rowe but whether he’d be happy doing that is another matter

He’d be ok cover but like you say it’s whether he’s happy doing that. He gives a much different option to Rowe. Tuton is quick and works hard by pressing a lot. Don’t expect much contribution in general play if he does sign though.

Was decent on loan to us the season before last. Scored a brilliant goal at Aldershot, which probably tells you what he's all about (look on YouTube) - a lot of running and fairly pacey. Only played on the right for us, so I wouldn't worry too much about his goal ratio, as he's an all-rounder. Definitely good enough to play in this division.

Never mind. Turns out he signed for Matlock a while ago.

We had Mark Roberts on trial last night, who didn't look great, Steve Jennings, who played really well, and I believe Callum McFadzean.

Also had Callum Saunders all preseason, and he'd be out of his depth in Conference North. How he's played so many times for Crewe and Notts County, I don't know.

He's 22 and played plenty of league football, yet he looks like a 16-year-old youth teamer who gets bullied off the ball. Apparently Deano rates him highly though...

Mark Roberts, the ex Stevenage and Fleetwood defender?

RE: Callum Saunders. I only ever recall him starting a game once when he was at Crewe, he may have started a couple more but i'm willing to bet 90% would have been appearances off the bench and within the last 5/10 minutes but agreed, very lightweight upfront for a competitive league.

Yes it is that Mark Roberts. Has actually been on trial with us all pre season but guessing we deemed him surplus to requirements which is fair enough due to centre back being one of our strongest areas and him looking unspectacular.

Wikipedia (I know...) has him down for 27 league appearances for Crewe. He looks like he's never played a senior match in his life.

And yes, that Mark Roberts. Used to be great at this level, especially with Stevenage, but I thought he was an inexperienced youngster playing last night! A lot of misplaced passes and looked surprisingly weedy - it was only after the game I found out who he was.

Have a look at what Dean Saunders said about him a few years back about him constantly eating takeaway chinese and playing on his Xbox all the time without working on his fitness or physicality.

Lazy idle bastard who thought he was a "baller" when he was out on the lash most nights in the week. Lived off his Dad's reputation and messed up a fantastic pedigree where he was a feared striker in our youth teams.

I was so glad we got rid. But I do think had it been Dave Artell managing him when he first got his professional contract, he may have turned into a half decent player. Charlie Kirk was going the same way as Saunders but Artell rescued his underachieving career just in time.

Saunders best hope now is going to Nantwich to rediscover any goalscoring form he may have again.

Steve Jennings playing really well sounds novel. He’s had injury/fitness issues but definitely past his best.

He was playing against a dreadful Lancaster team that had given up trying, but sat pretty much in the sweeper position playing passes about. Surely he could be useful to have as a squad player?

Wrexham planning on getting enough players together to fill the match day squad? Seems a hell of a slow summer over there, not just player wise but also staff I think?!

Protest it is. No point in getting a proper squad together when the league has already been purchased by Salford.

Staff wise we are ok. Just took our time to bring in the assistant manager. Our staff roster has far mlre depth than our playing squad

Possibly. He was injured for the last part of his time with us, had a dismal time at Southport last season and ended up loaned to Warrington, where he did ok.

Apparently one of our young keepers, Kai McKenzie-Lyle, is on trial at Liverpool. Given that we were told at a recent manager Q&A that we would be sending him on a long loan this season and bringing in another keeper, I reckon the answer will be yes to any transfer offer.

It finally worked for us after 6 years, so Wrexham just copying us again.

Think we took our Macc impression too far with a squad of 15 players againt yourselves, just 1.5 weeks before season is underway..

Ricketts has said he 'hopes' to sign a couple of players this week, so we'll see..

I hope the Mark Roberts bullet can be dodged. He's getting desparate if he's trialling at Holker Street. His last half decent matches for the U's were when we were backs to the wall Sept/Oct two seasons back. We managed to unload him to FGR and they quickly found out he was past it.

Decent family man who's starting a journalism career and aspires to get into coaching/management.

Barrow (and most clubs) could spend their money better unless they want to give him a go at management. Can see him making a start down that road in the next 6 months.

Staff wise we are sep now,
Manager: Sam Ricketts
Assistant: Graham Barrow
Coaches: Carl Darlington, Paul Pits (Or something like that)
GK Coach: Jussi Jaaskelainen

Players wise we are 4/5 short in my opinion
