Question is would you expect ... Gray to get a third more goals? That's what their values are compared to the speculated Gayle fee.

Speculated Gayle fee is £6 million potentially rising to £8 million.
Speculated Gray fee is £7 million potentially rising to £9 million.

I'd guess Gayle will have considerably higher wage demands than Gray too considering where they are coming from so I don't think there would be a huge difference in the finances of those two possible deals.

Let's be fucking right 17m for them too and 6m for Assombalonga shows you how fucked the English game is.

Two haven't played at the top level and the other is a bit part player for Crystal fucking Palace.

The game is truly and utterly buggered in this country fee wise.

I've said openly it wouldn't surprise me if Brentford finish either top 6 or bottom three to be fair and if you invest some of that £11m I don't deny you could feature. Comments about Saturday are a little tinted from your perspective though, we kept you exactly where we wanted you for 92 minutes- if by better side you're referring to having more of the ball but doing next to nothing with it, I'll give you that.

:gr:
You say we could finish Top 6, but with our current squad won't trouble anyone near the Top 6? Eh? :p

I don't deny, you are a club who are set up in exactly the ideal way to beat us. Happened last year, but didn't stop us finishing above you in the table.

You were definitely more clinical than us. But we actually had more possession, and shots - can't have been that toothless in the final third. I know also I'd much rather watch us play every week than long ball kick and run.

I still maintain that your goal changed proceedings. You had almost nothing till that point, while we had troubled you quite a lot. After that point you guys sat back and yes we played into your hands. You deserved to win in the end, we didn't. Massive improvement on your demolition of us at Griffin Park last year though!

You're referring to comments I made on two seperate occasions, one based before I saw you on Saturday (see the match day thread) and once today after Id seen your inability to create chances.

Agreed. Doesn't surprise me that some teams like yourself and us have stopped buying in England. There is some value to be found, but it's very hard to!

You also made exactly the same point in your previous post... "I've said many times Brentford could finish in the Top 6..."

Happy to make a bet that we finish Top 10 if you'd be up for it?

Rumours around that Gayle doesn't fancy a move to City so it's as you were, nothing to see here!
We will have to wait I suppose.

I know Garner and Beckford have never proven themselves in the Championship but the partnership they were forming at the end of last season was fantastic.

Confident that they could bag 25-30 between them this season.

Gayle move is off anyway. Even more confident he'll end up at QPR now

Gayle deal didn't last long.

Apparently he'll snub us on personal terms.

If I were to place a bet it would be exactly that, fancy you 8th-10th if I had to stick my neck out so perhaps we aren't so far apart in our opinions. So I'll politely decline. You do need more than you've got now for top 6 though IMO.
