Question is would you expect ... Gray to get a third more goals? That's what their values are compared to the speculated Gayle fee.

Speculated Gayle fee is £6 million potentially rising to £8 million.
Speculated Gray fee is £7 million potentially rising to £9 million.

I'd guess Gayle will have considerably higher wage demands than Gray too considering where they are coming from so I don't think there would be a huge difference in the finances of those two possible deals.

I've said openly it wouldn't surprise me if Brentford finish either top 6 or bottom three to be fair and if you invest some of that £11m I don't deny you could feature. I know Garner and Beckford have never proven themselves in the Championship but the partnership they were forming at the end of last season was fantastic.

If I were to place a bet it would be exactly that, fancy you 8th-10th if I had to stick my neck out so perhaps we aren't so far apart in our opinions. So I'll politely decline. You do need more than you've got now for top 6 though IMO.
