You should (Or shouldn't have really) seen our forum, Thorne's transfer alone merited a 500 page thread, all on him
You should have a look on our OTIB forum. Rovers relegation, last year, had 372 pages, 1.3M views and 17,000 posts! It was a proper piss taking shit fest!!

If City sign Gayle, do we get paid again?!

I don't think the original 8.5million was enough.

The way I read it, it's all down to wether Bolasie leaves. We have (supposedly) 15% of any profit over £300K and are waiving that as part of the deal. I'm not sure if that's part of the £6M or in addition to the £6M. Say Bolasie leaves for £15M, 15% of that on top of the £6M would make £8.25M so you work from that figure.
If the figure for sell on is £8.5M, I wouldn't imagine you will get anything.
He hasn't signed yet so it's al hypothetical anyway.

Seems we're favourites to sign Joey Barton now. I hope not.

A few Facebook posts are surfacing about the possibility of Bristol City signing Ched Evans if the Gayle deal falls through, surely not.

1 post on FB? My season ticket was going back for a couple of minutes.
Sod!! :fing:

It'll be a bid for one of your players soon if you're not careful :smug:

It would seem general consensus is that we're going to treat this one with caution until more sources report?

You're probably right. But you never know, you know?

Mate, appreciate you sharing all this detailed financial analysis of your club's affairs here.

And not in any thread I read.

This would be a great signing. A midfield three of Williams, Quinn and Chalobah could see us near the top.
But what about Oliver Norwood, Alex Fernandez, Aaron Tshibola or Aaron Kuhl?

We could have a lot of options in midfield..

Apparently Andre Gray is our Plan B should we not sign Dwight Gayle, wouldn't be happy with that.

Not your money, Andre Gray would be a great signing if you can tempt him.

For the reported £9m?

Could be spent far more wisely.

Where'd you hear this?

Agree given the increased amount over Gayle I would rather see us spend the money elsewhere. We would easily be able to afford Matt Smith for a fraction who could score enough in the championship, 800k a year ago £1.5m to £2m at most I'd expect would be enough.

Kodjia looks like he could do something with any kind of service, which was woefully lacking on Saturday.
Not convinced to be honest after watching him last night.

Matt Smith was written off as "awful" after his first 2 games for us on loan last season, he went on to be fantastic for us.
Kodjia has just come over from another country having to learn English, relocate entirely and learn to adapt to a new league much more physical than the French one. Wouldn't surprise me if it took him another month or so to find his feet tbh.

Joao has done the same but looks a different level to the Kodjia I saw Saturday

Fair enough, but all players adapt at different rates, Kodjia may never adapt and could be a total flop, but I personally won't write him off after 2 games.
