Supposedly we're back in again for Robert Beric, now that Saint Etienne and Werder Bremen have moved onto other targets. We weren't prepared to pay the £3.8m they wanted a month ago, let's hope his price hasn't increased too much seeing as he scored three goals to knock Ajax out of the Champions League.

Also set to complete Alex Fernandez' loan with a view to permanent from Espanyol later today.

I do and don't understand that argument. As much as I think it's a waste of time him stalling on us, and holding out for a bigger club; I do believe that if he came here, it wouldn't affect his performances, and I'd be disgusted if he didn't put in 100% effort to his employer, but I'm positive that wouldn't be the case.

Still think he'll turn us down, but this story keeps twisting and turning. From the Press reporting he'd snubbed us, to the press reporting he's fallen out with Padrew etc - only for him to come out and say that it was Gayle trying to force the move, and that the ball is in his court.

Going abroad for strikers seems to be a sensible risk nowadays. British striker prices are massively inflated. Feel robbed that in the current market we only got 1m for Leigh Griffiths.

We only got £2.5m for Le Fondre last Summer. If Gray is worth £9m than Le Fondre must have been worth similar.

Admittedly we sold him slightly cheaper than we wanted to avoid administration, but we would have been crazy to have even asked for over £4m for him. That was last only 14 months ago too!

Jamie Murphy to Brighton seems more and more likely...no idea what to think about that if true, wins games on his own when he plays well but otherwise you may as well just have 10 players on the pitch. Most Blades are loosing their shit at thet hought of it though, I'm clearly in a minority that thinks he's overrated and that 1.5-2mill (rumoured) is a reasonable fee for him.

Interesting, was one of the first players we were linked with right at the beginning of the summer. Seems quite a big outlay for someone who's never played at this level, BUT I like what I saw of him last season (he can actually finish, yeah?), and we're in desperate need of greater options on the wings.

Looks to have the ability to make an impact at a higher level.. an overdue replacement for Will Buckley perhaps, who in fairness also blew pretty hot and cold, but destroyed Championship defences on his day.

Looks as though Blackburn were asking for closer to £5m for Ben Marshall, who we've also been after - so I think this'd probably represent better value (though I do rate Marshall, just not that much).

Yeah he can finish. Debate on whether hes best on the wings or upfront.

I really don't know what to think about this, the 1.5-2mill quoted is a good fee IMO as he is inconsistent and until Clough came in we wouldn't have gotten 100k for him. But at the same time he is easily our best player on his day.

Will be interesting to see if he makes the step up. Either way its poor form on our part to force him out, which we did, the transfer request stuff our board have put out is complete bollocks. He was always going if you met our asking price which you did.
