It's not that - you're deluding yourself into thinking that Dack is worth more than £1m. He's not. He may well be worth more than £1m to Gillingham, but that doesn't reflect his true value. He's only been performing in L1 for a season, and he's no better than Luongo and Freeman were in that league and they've both struggled with the step up.

Dack is worth however much Gillingham value him, JJH. That's how the market works.

Nothing at all against Bristol City as a club, apart from the arrogance of a lot of the talk coming out of your club that we'd accept a derisory offer because your club is so much bigger and better than our own. If you pay the money that he's worth then sure, he goes with all our blessings, but it grates to hear that we should almost just be honoured that a club like City are interested in one of our players. If your fans were maybe a little more modest then it might be easier to talk with you.
That must be coming from your end Joe as it's the first I've heard of our club being arrogant towards the Gills. As for the fans being arrogant, where has that come from?

How on earth do you decide a 'true value' if not what he's worth to his club? This isn't Football Manager, where everyone has a set value all of the time - there's so many factors, and seeing as I've laid all of them out to you several times and you still haven't managed to get your head round it then I'm not sure what else I can do.
His true value is what he's actually worth, not what his club value him at.

Anyway - enough on that Gypo lookalike, Gladwin and Pearce both signing.

His price is set by Gillingham, his value to Gillingham is more than £1m, by as a player I wouldn't value him at more than £1m.

Considering the stupid money some at this level are chucking about I would say Dack is worth considerably more than £1m.

If I was Gillingham I'd be setting the price at around double that or telling clubs to kindly FO.

Aye, different positions admittedly but seeing Washington go for £3.5m (reportedly) they'll be in a position to think they can demand more than that.

Derby County have tweeted that Pearce has signed for us until the end of the season and QPR have stated that Gladwin has signed for BCFC on a 3 month loan.
City have said fuck all! Even BBC Bristol have said 'news of signings at Bristol City coming soon'.
We are sooo shit at announcements! :emb:

Someone tell me Alex Pearce is good.

Gladwin still has a lot to prove. Had one good game at AG last year.

They're both solid signings, nothing special but it's not going to take anything flashy to survive the drop this season.

Don't rate Gladwin at all, me. Looked very mediocre every time I've seen him. I reckon you've already got better than him.

Admittedly, that's only about 5 or 6 times, like.

This a loan deal then?

Yeah mate, Gladwin a 93 day loan and Pearce for the season. Don't think either will feature in the first team a lot, but it's good to have the options available to the new manager when he comes in.

Pearce will do well for you, as I said in the Summer he is the definition of "average Championship centreback". Won't make many mistakes, will win most battles in the air, will score a few, but he is sooo slow and clumsy on the ball. Was our Player of the Season when we won the league in 2011-12 and was linked to Liverpool but since then he has gone a bit backwards. Some Reading fans were annoyed we let his contract go and didn't offer him enough to keep him but I think that was more down to wanting to keep hold of our academy players who are capable at this level. We came out of the Summer better by replacing him with Paul McShane.

All about survival for us and these two are the start of giving any new Manager more options.
Welcome to BCFC.

Washington has signed. It is a gamble, but he seems the right sort of player. Be a change to have a player high on confidence at LR, everyone and everything seems doom and gloom at the moment.

Cottercunt finally getting some of the depth he wanted, shame he'll be spending the rest of the season playing Minecraft instead of managing them though.

I reckon he will surface again in no time, in Wiltshire.

A lot of our fans wouldn't want him back after his loan finished a couple of weeks ago. He doesn't seem to last 90 minutes and at times appears disinterested. That may be because he was back at Swindon and thought he was better than that. As long as you need a non tackling midfielder that can't win a header but can conjure up that bit of magic occasionally, he's the man for you.

We'd be stupid to go back in for more than £1m for a player who has never played in this division and may not be wanted for a new manager. Hope we leave it now.
Wouldn't mind seeing us go somewhere in the region of £1.5m with add ons.

Honestly, you have over paid massively. If the 3 million quid report is true, we have the deal of the century.

If you had told me 3 months ago someone has paid a quarter of a million for him, I would have been reasonably happy. Last week, if someone had paid a million for him, I would have been ecstatic. 3 Million is absurd.

He is nowhere near the player CMS, Boyd, Gayle or Assombalonga are (or were). Washington is replaceable. When they all left, they felt absolutely irreplaceable.
