Yeah I can't see it. Generally rated the better of the two, albeit a couple of years older. Stephens has more goals in him I guess. Loath to lose either of them.

Apparently we Carlisle are after a Brighton fella called Jake Forster-Caskey, he is meant to have turned down an offer from Rotherham to join us as he see's Carlisle as a bigger and better club who are moving forwards and not backwards, sorry Rotherham fans.

So is he any good?

Really good player, think he ended up bagging 8 goals last year and it felt like he was hardly given a chance. Scored some absolute screamers. Spoke to a few Boro fans when we signed him and they said despite him being a good player he didn't really fit with how they wanted to play, you could argue the same has happened here. His position is a bit of a luxury at times, if you can shoe horn him into a formation then he'll be brilliant at this level in a top 6 team IMO.

As much as I think he's a good player I just don't think we need him. If he ends up staying then great, another option to have. I don't think our scouts and hierarchy thought his transfer through but they had to do something after losing both Hughes and Bryson last season. Not fussed if it's him or Johnson who leave but I'll wish them the best of luck if they do go. If he does go I imagine we won't be far off breaking even as far as fee's go.

Think it's the worst attempt of a wind up in the history of football forums.

Great composure.

It all seems to have gone very quiet on the transfer front, it's my birthday give me an update, or preferably some good news.............please.

2.5m seems a lot for a bloke who's career has been very limited at present!

Indeed.

He's played in the top two Italian divisions and was wanted by Genoa this summer, and given that he was on Juventus' books, I assume he must have something about him. Time will tell though.

The fact Juve sold 50% of his rights (bizarre as fuck that in any case) for €1m and bought it back then he's made 40 or so top flight appearances in two seasons is why I think it's pricey but as you say he's had the right upbringing at Juve and in Italian football in general so could be a steal.

I'm getting dead bored of Sissoko and his agent's witterings already. Did his best? pfft. Loyal? pfft.

Can someone just give us £35M and be done with it. :bye::£

Jake Forster-Caskey is almost a done a deal, just needs to take a medical according to my source.

I don't think we need any more midfielder's but having strength in depth is never a bad thing! :)

I'd kill for us to sign Jake Forster-Caskey on a permanent.

I'm going to caveat this as I thought he was already on his way to Bournemouth, but our newest link is with Jordan Ibe. Suppose if/when Sissoko leaves we'll need a winger so it kind of makes sense. I guess that's how every lazy journalist will defend themselves mind you.
