I'm going to caveat this as I thought he was already on his way to Bournemouth, but our newest link is with Jordan Ibe. Suppose if/when Sissoko leaves we'll need a winger so it kind of makes sense. I guess that's how every lazy journalist will defend themselves mind you.

Got a horrible feeling you'll still have players like Sissoko still in August when we play you having been unable to ship him out by then.

I'd kill for us to sign Jake Forster-Caskey on a permanent.

He's in two minds as to whether he wants to move to us as we'd be so far away from his family and friends. Understandable for a young lad but after a few nights out in Sheffield he won't mind the north.

I was going to say hopefully you're right but if I'm being honest I'd rather just get rid. He's refused to play every game for the last 18 months so it wouldn't be any day different now.

I can't see anyone paying the money for him or Wijnaldum so you may just be right - certainly it we're playing before the window closes.

Might you loan them out to free up wages at least or is it an asking price, or he'll play in the Championship sort of thing?

In everything Rafa says he seems to be standing his ground with the asking price as his contract doesn't expire until 2019. f there was loan/view to a permanent deal put in place I'd look at that but I haven't heard anything that would suggest we're going to. Sky seem to think the Pogba deal with set the dominoes in motion with Sissoko heading to Turin as a replacement.

Simply because I just can't really see anyone spending that much, I reckon he'll end up playing the first few games at least.

Tammy Abraham linked on Chelsea youth page. Looks a prospect and just what we should be looking for.

Fingers crossed. Things are looking quite good for us so far.

Could be the loan striker Johnson's been seeking. We're definitely trying for a few, Johnson was excellent in that market when at Barnsley, bringing in Brownhill, Pearson, Fletcher etc...

O'Dowda close to signing. Will be as happy with that as I was Tomlin.

What are your expectations for next year then? Kick on or more consolidating?

I thought if I can't beat the Bristolification of this thread, I might as well join in.

Sorry mate. It has died down a lot though, any Bristol City conversation about any other subject than transfers in here I move to designated Bristol City thread when I can.

We hope to kick on, steady development, but I don't know what to expect until we get in our targets.

With no big sides in the league this year there is no reason why we can't win it ;)

Ha I'm only joking mate don't worry. I'm genuinely interested to see what other teams are thinking for the new season. For my sins I've had my head in the clouds a bit as far as the Championship is concerned over the last couple of years which is a bit silly considering we've flirted with it in the recent past.

Pleased to hear it! I don't have the fixtures at hand but from my memory I think we meet quite early on. You were one of the few teams that went unbeaten against us last time you little swines so I'm hoping for a bit more luck.

I remember telling Palace fans how crap Bolasie was when we sold him to them
He's not crap, he's not great and will make quite a few mistakes but he isn't awful. He'll also get a lot of suspensions.

I'm happy he's gone because he's a twat.

No great surprise, we can't match the financial muscle / pull of a club with parachute payments and a more realistic chance of top division football. Given all that, Norwich have got themselves a decent young player.

Burton have signed Kyle McFadzean.

I hope we had a sell on clause

Newcastle fans. Do you think Freddie Woodman will get games this season? He did very well on loan with us last season and I'd like Ike to see him progress. Good keeper imho.

Wasn't just us in for him, Fulham and Brentford as well - no real surprise that the biggest club with the best chance of promotion landed him. Good luck to the kid.
