We thought the final price would be inflated apparently, so we pulled out and that's what even mor einfuriating.
Been reading the #rufc feed on Twitter all day, same excuses being churned out by your lot as our lot last summer. I'm not saying they're not true, but you were a big critic of them.

Tough business this Championship when you go for decent calibre of players isn't it? :P

Thing is though the players wanted to come, Bradshaw and Gregory both had deals ready to be signed if we negotiated a fee with their clubs.

Problem is Tony Stewart spouts utter shite, says we'll spend this and that and then bottles it when it comes to forking out.. All the while we've got Paul Douglas who only wants to use the loan market and frees.

I've negotiated more deals this week than those pair of useless senile c*** have done in their footballing careers.

Hope you are right mate, but don't be surprised if we are having our pants pulled down again for the sake of just getting rid of him.

Barnsley don't spend money, never have done really. I'd be surprised and I think their own fans would if they were to spend £750k after just being promoted.

Our last bid was 650k

Players wanted to come here until they saw the money on offer.

O'Dowda announced tonight from Oxford anyway. Beautiful stuff.

Loads of our fans are fuming at the moment including me with whats happening at our club, even heard a few that are handing their season tickets back. All we hear is total bs about smashing our highest transfer deal and challenging for playoffs and eventually being in the premiership but we always never seem to pull off our main targets over the line and ending up signing a load of shite instead. Im baffled that we were willing to pay 1.4 million for a 28 Lee Gregory but we wouldn't go any higher than 500k or whatever it was for 23 year old Bradshaw. I really thought this would be a turning point since we got promoted that we could be a club challenging a bit further up the table but its gonna be the same shite now with a load of loans and past it players and scrapping it out for survival again but unfortunately our luck will probably run out this time. We've also had to cancel a friendly today with Grimsby because of our squad size. Was looking forward to this season a week ago and now im dreading it.

The thing is though, how much different does it have to be to be inflated? If you had £650k knocked back, I can't see Barnsley offering MUCH more than that, another £100k tops? How many millions is it worth staying in the league? Seems odd not spending an extra £100k for example on a natural finisher that could score the goals that make the difference between going down and staying up OR mid table for exmaple.

Seems weird.

This is more fun than the time we pulled the rug from under Donny's feet for Jason Shackell.

No issues with the deals, like I said the players themselves had agreed to come, it's the unwillingness of our board to actually fork out what they promised as to why we've not signed em.

Barnsley have probably offered 700k or 750k.

Our board have shit themelves as they actually might have had to spend something instead of spouting off about spending. Not that weird, everyone has just found out Tony Stewart and crew are bullshitters.

O'dowda now confirmed. What looks to be another good signing. This summer is in complete contrast to last.

Everything Gregory and the club have said has indicated that Gregory did not and does not want to join Rotherham.

They would say that now we've ended our interest.

Was done and dusted mate but we wouldn't go over £1.5m.

Any northern team who shows interest in Gregory and he'll be gone.

If this is true, then why has Gregory not handed in a transfer request?

I am not saying he won't leave, but there only evidence available indicates that he was not interested in joining Rotherham.

I agree. Have no idea why a young man earning a good wage would want to live in London personally.

Wants to come home to family and friends start a family etc...

Could offer me all the money in the world but I wouldn't want to bring my kids up anywhere near London.

Knew what Millwall valued him at? When we're offering far lower than what you want and he knows you won't accept, it wouldn't make sense for him to upset the apple cart. I mean look at the reaction when you all though the had handed one in.

Why would Rotherham care about missing out on Bradshaw when they're signing players like Kris Commons and Duncan Watmore.

Kris Commons will be here once he's recovered from hi sop, mind you if Celtic want a fee, Stewart will shit himself and back out probably.

If you followed the thread you know where i was getting Watmore from and who it actually is.
