Always liked him but we already have a huge amount of midfielders in our squad as it is. Can't see us making a bid unless we ship 2 or 3 of them out first.
Hope not! Cracking player and Wolves would be a brilliant move though.

We'll give you a 3 for 1 deal, George Saville, Tommy Rowe and Lee Evans for Kasim

Oh, you can have Sir Leon Clarke back too.

http://m.bristolpost.co.uk/Brentfor...City-s-radar/story-26611287-detail/story.html - You have to ask why Brentford don't want him.

Not too sure I'd be too keen on Grigg, it's certainly a gamble with the fee that will be paid as he's never proven himself at this level.
He didn't really get a fair chance in our side for the season when we did have him. He got played out of position a lot, had a couple of very good games when played in his favoured position, but seemed to lose confidence.

I'd like to see him given a chance this season, but I can't see him starting ahead of Gray, and I think we're likely to try and improve in that area anyway. If we get a decent bid I think we'll let him go. No reason why he couldn't get 10-15 goals in this league, if played in the right position.

The worrying thing is that he won't be replaced. I've always liked Pearce, a tad slow, but he was always solid and dependable. He'll be hard to replace, especially given his connections to the club.

This is why the summer is going to be interesting. We will see if the Thais are going to back Steve Clarke in the transfer window.

Think Sam Johnstone might have impressed a bit too much this season and there is talk of another season-long loan deal rather than a permanent transfer now.

think grigg would do a decent job here with the service provided from freeman, obviously we wont create as many chances as last season so we need someone a bit more prolific than agard and wilbrahim and I think we would need one more striker who is proven in the championship as well as grigg (if the rumour isnt bollocks and the deal goes through)

Bidding war over Grigg...I sniff 20%. Bet Jeff's got another yacht lined up just at the prospect.

We're after Andreas Weimann from Villa, on a permanent basis.

Though why would you need him, Ince, Dawkins, Bent and Martin? Seems a bit like overkill.

Would be a lot of money for another attacking player when it's the defence that seems to be the problem there.

Yeah, it is rather concerning that we're not being linked with many defensive players. Pearce looks to be happening next week, and there's been talk of Lewis Dunk.

Darren Bent and Alex Pearce have both agreed terms and will be revealed next week.

Bent turned down a late offer from a Turkish club, and an unnamed Championship club.

From Derby Mad's ITK'er SDSR, who also confirms the interest in Weimann. No bid yet.

Darren Bent I'm pleased with, Pearce a little underwhelmed, but always give new players a chance.

Signs that Derby have seen the FFP situation and the lack of punishment going on at QPR, and just gone for it to be honest.

Bent and Weimann's combined wages (if they both sign) per week would likely be similar too some of the bottom clubs total wage bill.

Weimann would be a fantastic signing for this level, based on what I've seen. If we're keeping the same system then he will be played wide right forward, I'd imagine. I'd still love Ince to come in. Weimann and Ince on either side of Bent or Martin would be great to see. Russell, Dawkins and Calero in reserve.

Bent is also due to sign, which I think is good news. However, some Derby fans blame him for the injuries, our plight and just about everything else out of his control. He's too clever for defenders at this level; he just knows how to outfox the avarage man and get on to the end of stuff inside the box. He isn't as good a footballer as Chris Martin, no, but he's a completely different player.

Alex Pearce, I'm not 100% about. He's effectively been bought in to replace Whitbread in the squad. He's obviously a decent Championship player, but I don't see him as a marked improvement on either Keogh or Buxton. I'd be stunned if he's as bad as Shotton at CB and the verdict is still out on Albentosa.

I guess we'll find out.

I still think we're due: centre forward, someone who can fill Martin's role. wide forward, I'm praying Ince. two defensive midfielders, to replace Omar and Eustace. The defence is a little more tricky - all could be replaced but it would just be easier to coach them.

Warnock came in and was poor in comparison to Forsyth. Shotton came in and was poor in comparison to Christie. Albentosa came in and hasn't shown anything yet to prove he's better than Keogh or Buxton. It's also worth remembering: Christie, Keogh, Buxton and Forsyth broke a club record last season for the largest run of clean sheets. Grant has also come into question, but as with the rest of the defence, he'll be hard to replace.

The club have said they are well within FFP anyway apparently, and with the rules being relaxed it'll be even better for us. I'd still like to see how true the first statement would be true if both are signed, but I believe Bent had taken a relatively large pay cut and he won't be that far ahead of other team members otherwise they'll all complain won't they?

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a clause in his contract saying if we got promoted then his wages will increase by a lot.

I don't blame Derby to be honest. The FFP rules are complete BS as showed by their pathetic handling of the QPR situation. It's basically sending a message to other clubs to spend whatever they want and there wont be any consequence to it.

Also looks like the Yasir Kasim deal isn't going to happen and we've said we had interest in him but wont pursue it.

Also it looks like our Sako replacement will be Michal Zyro from Legia Warsaw. Supposed to be half decent but we'll see.
