Jamie Murphy is good but not sure if I would be happy spending £1m on him.

He's not a patch on Paul Gallagher who is on a free, although I suppose he is 5 years younger.

We are after the same Iranian player apparently, but haven't met the valuation yet. He's been mentioned a lot on our forums over the last couple of weeks.

If its. Alireza Jahanbakhsh then Brighton are in for him as well.

Rejected 1.5m from Fulham for Richard Stearman, if they can give Leeds 11m for McCormack I'm sure they can push 5 or so million for RS :)

Our fans couldn't even spell Iain Hume's name right, can you imagine them with that?

Haha! Our fans seem to have real difficulty spelling names they see every week, Hulme and Huntingdon are just two.. :fl:

Premier League clubs have been put off by Crystal Palace's valuation of Dwight Gayle - so that puts an end to the idiots who think we're in with a chance of signing him.

Who in the hell thought we'd have a chance in getting him?

Just seen Jamie Murphy's scoring record. 9 goals in 39 games. Not great.

For a winger not bad? Can he not play as a forward then? He seems to have the right attributes for it. It has been awfully quiet with regards to incomings. No rumours, no source's.

I hate this time of year.

Bielsa's bucket
so, a recap on Leeds owner Cellinos promise on a great season

so far we have been linked with an incredible 6 goal striker in the SPL, a 0 goal striker from the PL and some Uruguayan defender nobody has heard of

Exciting times ahead!

He's not a Striker at all, he's a winger, preferably left sided, hence why I took absolutely no notice about the rumour.

Last summer the Bristol Post were very good with their rumours, and they all had an element of truth about them. This year already, they've linked us too someone different most days for about the past two weeks - and none of them have been particularly exciting.

I got very excited whenever I seen a rumour published by the BP last year, now I'm just beginning to think they have little to fill up the pages in there and are just spouting shite.

Not sure where you're getting those stats from. He was their top scorer in the league with 11 this season, 12 in all comps. Which, as mentioned, is pretty decent for a winger. (Or has Flint's recent exploits set unrealistic expectations amongst the City fans?!)

I'd imagine we're not the only clubs after him.

Wikipedia most likely - but it hasn't been updated.

Probably the fact that he wouldn't fit into our system. He's not a Striker, he's not a natural attacking midfielder, he plays as a left sided forward.

We already have Bryan and Cunningham for the left side, and I can't see that Murphy would adapt to playing a wing back role, so I wouldn't want him.

Was just talking in relation to goal tallies for non-strikers.

But fair enough, we'll most certainly take him then if they're willing to sell. We have very, very little in the wide areas, or in attack in general.

Rumoured to be paying £1,000,000 early next week for Sam Johnstone from Man United.

Best Goalkeeper I've seen at Deepdale in a long time.

I'd be shocked to see us pay that sort of money but yeah, I agree, he's class.

I really rated Declan Rudd when we had him on loan but Johnstone definitely shades it, in terms of coming off his line and 'sweeping' i'm not sure if i've seen anyone better at this level. I think it will be a loan but it would be a great investment if we manage it.

We don't claim to have one, our owner is worth £700m.

It's your lot who lie about it.

I was only winding you up but you did say your budget was similar or smaller than ours last season...which is clearly not the case.

I don't know what your budget was, or ours so couldn't say for certain although I imagine they were similar. We were only paying small fractions of Gallagher's and Beckford's wages. Us spending £1m (which I doubt) in the Championship has no bearing on our wage bill in League One, considering we all have to stick to FFP.

I wouldn't be bothered but I fucking hate Karl Robinson and him pissing and moaning about other clubs finances when thing aren't going well.

If MK Dons would 'never spend £1m on a player at this level' you can kiss goodbye to Will Grigg then.

Erm, we have.
A lot of your fans still seem confident you'll get him.

There were comments on the bottom of the BP article from MK fans still confident he'd be coming to you.

Got those stats from the Brizzle Post. Anyway, it no longer looks like we are getting that Regan Poole kid.
