The mighty Rams!!!
The Sun reckon we're trying to get Giles Barnes back from the MLS.

In all seriousness rammy they're saying its MM being influential in this. I hope not as we don't want him influencing purchasing of players.

He never should have left Celtic, from being the most in demand striker in Scotland to struggling onto a Championship side's bench.

Playing against teams such as Barcelona in the Champions League and calls for him to get called up to the England team too. Ah Scottish football.

You're not wrong, but I bet he's still on the same packet he was on at Celtic.

Can only see this move happening if Vaughan goes - who's in his final year.

Cardiff interested in Robson Kanu and we are being linked with Ali Al Habsi.

He wouldn't want to leave Derby anyway would he? Derby are far more likely to challenge for promotion than Cardiff.

Expecting quite a busy week, this week. 1 incoming and 1 departure possibly announced tomorrow and we should have more of an idea on where we stand with the contract offers/ negotiations with people coming back off holiday. Rumours that Scott Laird has rejected the initial terms offered to him.

Were after another Leon... Leon Britton from Swansea apparently. Not sure why were linked with all these midfielders though.

No matter how he did at Barnsley expect us to be one of the favourites to sign him, he basically ticks every box that Robbo looks for in a player, and he's been here before and the fans basically loved him, was our star player when we beat wolves at molineux

He was good when he played for us on loan during the 2013/2014 season but that was in League One and that was only a handful of games over a year ago. Whether he can be as good now over a longer period of time at a higher level remains to be seen.

On the other hand, he is still only 22 and clearly has something about him to have ended up at Bayern Munich. He certainly did when he tore us apart in that 4-2 loss at Tranmere in 2010.

What should not be overlooked is that he was born in Liverpool which is Karl Robinson's main criteria when searching for players. He also meets our secondary criteria in that he is a 'freebie'.
He also did well in the championship after the loan to us, I don't know what's happened this year but it looks as if he was let to get a bit chubby, which won't happen here

Bit hypocritical of Karl Robinson that.

Practice what you preach.

Karl also doesn't run around on a football pitch and has no need of being fit, although I'd still rather be his size than a Steve Evans replica

Steve Evans gets far more poon than Karl Robinson.

No surprise, but we're expected to sign Darren Bent and Alex Pearce on a free early this week.

Bent is a 20+ goal a season striker, so will prove to be a great acquisition over the course of the season. I'm sure.
Pearce, two years ago, would have been a huge signing. I'm hoping a new club, clean slate...etc will see him back to his best. He's replacing Whitbread in the squad, so he'll have to fight for his place anyway.

Do Derby have foreign owners now? they seem to have money to burn these days.

Bent is going to be on about 30k-a-week, surely?

We've had foreign owners for the past eight or so years. However, Mel Morris, Candy Crush supremo and local lad, has upped his investment and become the club's new chairman.

The Sun quoted Bent's proposed wage at 19k-a-week over a three/four year period. In order to get around the FFP, but they also quoted Clement's at 3m-a-year (which was described as so far from the truth that it's laughable) whereas the Mail quoted just 1m-a-year.

I do expect us to spend a fair amount this summer, though. Morris reportedly headhunted the sacking of McClaren because he didn't trust him with the investment - and personally named Clement as the ideal successor.

Ince is still a main target, as mentioned at the press conference, and we've admitted we want Weimann too. I don't think it will stop there either. I'm a bit skeptical over too much change, but it's not my money so fair play to him.

Now both confirmed, Bent on a two year deal and Pearce on a 3 year deal.

Two decent signings, especially Bent.

Will be weird playing against Pearce, that's for sure.

Need to start making moves in the market now. Losing some of our highest wage earners should open up that money to be spent, even if it is only on free transfers.

Brilliant.

Look at all those direct quotes from Evans in there.

Oh wait there isn't any. Very fucking slow news day in Swindon.

'My sources in South Yorkshire say Evans has never wanted Obika.'

A journalist has sources inside Rotherham United do they? Highly doubt it.

I don't need to justify myself to Rotherham fans and where I get info from, if they know me, they know where I get it from. (Not Deano btw, although he did get the same news about Obika and tweeted it.)

Same person who said Kirkland was in that day too, which is backed up by Wednesday fans.

Journalists in Swindon obviously know more though.
