Weimann to be concluded before the end of the week, Lowton to follow soon after. It's a tedious link, but I'd be more than happy with both.

Derby seem to find new ways of screwing up despite having on paper the best squad over multiple years. Any questions over Will Hughes or does he stay for one last push at it? He would be a big loss. Otherwise their squad now probably looks even stronger than ever.

The usual rumour of him going to Liverpool for £15m. He's gone there for that price, for the last three summers. I expect interest, it's just whether it meets our valuation.

I reckon Hendrick might be off sadly. With the rumours of Weimann and Lowton and Villa's interest in Hendrick, I expect them to want some sort of a swap deal.

If Clement can sort our defence out, I'll be confident for next season. Right now, we are not good enough at the back.

Will Bent even start for Derby? What about Martin?

Last season, we was bound by a system that ultimately became the death of us as it hinges on a number of key positions. Martin and Bent should work well together as they're completely different forwards. Martin's a provider, Bent's a finisher. It should work well. Even so, we needed another option regardless. To only have one proven, competent striker was ridiculous.

it could come down to just coaching, though. Christie, Keogh, Buxton and Forsyth kept six/seven consecutive clean sheets last season. It was only towards the end that we seemed to chuck the coaching manual away and fell apart.

Now, with Pearce, we could put a backline out of international players.

Joe Bryan signs a contract extension which keeps him here until 2019.

Absolutely delighted with that!

He was on loan with us for the second half of last season.

He's alright - likes a tackle, plays best as a sitting midfielder, would probably be a replacement for Welsh.

Didn't break into our team much as our midfield rarely needed chances, but was alright when called upon.

Doubt Wolves would sell him, but if you can get him for a decent price he'd be worth a punt.

Against West Ham he looked brilliant and thought he'd turn into a player I'd want to sign permanently. After that he didn't do anything to impress. I'd like to think we will sign someone better in pre-season.

We had him the season before. Looked quality at times, but we have replaced him with better players. Could do a job at Championship level, but won't pull up trees.

Absolutely brilliant to get Darren Bent back on a permanent basis. Never thought that was going to be possible, in this division.

anythings possible when you break FFP regulations and have 30k wages :bravo:

Would be good to see Savile move on to a club where he might get more playing experience and a club who wouldn't mind that you don't sell many kids shirts with his name on the back. Agree with MagpieBee that he won't pull up trees. I can see him doing his stuff for a pedestrian unassuming club in League 1 who have aspirations of one day playing in the upper half of that division. Like Sheffield United or Oldham maybe.

so what's the latest on QPR, are they just waiting until they have built a new squad before the transfer ban comes?

pisses me well off this, especially how Leeds and Forest were made scapegoats, yet QPR can continue to take the piss, they should have been banned instantly from any trasnfer activity

I expect all QPR will end up with is a fine and a letter telling them not to do it again.

And then the same will apply the next Summer they carry out the same offence.

You weren't made scapegoats Kev, you simply broke the rules without any complications. QPR should be massively punished for their losses IMO (9.8 million with 60 million paid off from investor loans) and hopefully they will do but they have been very sneaky for 2 or 3 years now with the legal proceedings of FFP. Just because yourselves and Forest ignored the rules without making safe a defensive case doesn't mean you're scapegoats, more fool you. The rules (and loopholes) are the same for everyone unfortunately.

A month or two before they beat us in the P/O final last year they posted losses of 65 million didn't they? It is unfair and hopefully they get fucked over. Let's hope the FFP small print is robust enough to not be broken down by QPR's legal team.

FFP is a joke.

It's easy to enforce it when a team isn't in too deep. i.e. us and Leeds. Make an example of them by sticking a little embargo on.

Look at QPR. They are in too deep. They've broken every single rule and are so far beyond the line. The only correct rememdy would be massive financial sanctions. But that's not going to happen.

Derby - building a hell of a team. Be very interesting.

Chris Humphrey and John Welsh have signed new 2-year contracts, pleased with that, serious man-love for Welsh.

No word of Scott Laird, Thorsten Stuckmann or Kevin Davies' player/coach role yet.

Aidy White and Greg Halford to sign fairly soon, both subject to medicals.

Happier with Halford than White right now but if he keeps himself fit White would be the better signing.

I said I wouldn't mind Halford, but everyone else said he was utter shite.

We'll see.

Halford can be great but he can be infuriating. Definitely got the talent (and the long throws) but he's one of those players who if he loses his place is more likely to tweet and moan about it rather than earn it back. There seems to be a lot of players like that, sadly. However, one trump card is that Halford can play anywhere.

Both Halford and White have pace, and maybe this is what Evans is looking to build on. Promising signings for Rotherham, but both also a gamble.

The only thing good about Greg Halford is his long throws. He can play anywhere but just not very well.He wasn't with us very long though so has probably improved a little bit.The only thing i remember him doing for us was giving away a pen at Spurs.
