Halford seems a bit of a journey man, think he'll be playing in league one soon.

RUFC Sign Aidy White from Leeds United. Shows a bit of intent on our part. White was on £9k a week at Elland Road, and although we are paying nowhere near that, it does show that we are now competing for players at this level. Will he be our highest earner at the club so far? Who knows, it's all guess work. I was led to believe Derbyshire was top dog on £5k.

Chris Humphrey and John Welsh have signed new 2-year contracts, pleased with that, serious man-love for Welsh.

No word of Scott Laird, Thorsten Stuckmann or Kevin Davies' player/coach role yet.

Stuckmann gone to Donny.

Quality character and he's a decent L1 keeper, always did a job for us when called upon. Wish him luck, really likable bloke and I hope he gets first team football there. Sad to see him go but I doubt he would have got a sniff here bar the odd League Cup game, hopefully Jamie Jones follows him out of the door and doesn't become our second choice keeper.

Rumoured that we've agreed the deal with Watford for McGugan.

How come he only played 1 game for em last season, injury? Always thought he was highly rated at Leeds.....

I believe White has had injury concerns, hence the release from LUFC. He has assured everyone, and maybe this is why he only got a 1 year deal, that he is fully over any injury worries.

Is Freeman available for Transfer then? Have Bristol City said he is no longer required at Ashton Gate?

I thought Pringle had a good year, and would be an asset to many teams at this level. We wanted to keep him, he wanted to go.

'Championship Star' - bit misleading seeing as Rotherham fans have said he was bang average last season.

Really? I always thought he was one of their best players?

Nope. Not unless a crazy offer is made.

Nevertheless, I'd take him, judging by what I seen of him in L1 alone. Not sure where'd he fit into our system, but would be a tidy player to have in the squad.

He'll end up on loan at Sheffield United by the end of the season.

We've signed an 18 year old defender from Caen called Sylvain Deslandes. Played for a number of the French national youth sides and looks a real prospect.

On the other side, we are expecting a bid from Everton for Nouha Dicko.

Just curious as to how many times you've watched Caen to know he's a good prospect?

Dicko's the only Striker I'm dreading playing next season.

I'm a big fan of Flint, obviously, but Dicko has, and would again give him the run around.

He's on the move far too often, and he's too nippy and quick for Flint to keep locks over him. The sooner he goes, the better.

I've never heard or seen of him before an hour ago, just going off what our academy boss has said and the fact he plays for the French under 20's. Then again he could turn out shit.

I like Dicko, but don't think he's good enough for Everton. My only worry is that he only has 1 year left on his contract so we might be tempted to cash in now. Shame if we lose Sako and Dicko in the space of 12 months and not get a penny for either of them.

Not saying he's not decent but I got a very premature hard on over Zeki Fryers and look how wank he was for us and Ipswich.

I can see Dicko going. Personally, I don't think he is PL quality. He was subbed off a few times in the latter part of the season and looked very, very unhappy about it. I think the club may want to move him on to earn some money off him, and then look for talent elsewhere.

I agree that Deslandes is a real prospect too. Before some witless cnut asks how many times I have seen him play at Caen (as a reaction, of course, not a provocation), I haven't. I don't need to because the last few seasons suggest that Wolves 'youth' scouting and academy are delivering the goods. The signing and development of the likes of Iorfa, Hause, Batth, Price, Ebanks-Landell, Ismail, Eusebio... even the departed Davis and Forde suggest that **our** people know what they are doing. Not every one of those will be a success, nor can we take a lot of credit for much of the development of some of them, but yes......a younger player coming into the club these days is a "real prospect", I agree.

Perhaps if managers of some other clubs spent less time conspiring to evade tax, being frequently sent from the dugout for abusing players and officials, or sitting out stadium bans, and a little more time trawling through different leagues for players, the fans of those clubs might be able to rely on them for spotting "real prospects".
Of course, if you employ such a bombastic, porcine, publicity-seeking rent-a-git as your manager then expect your close season signings to be little more than picking scraps of paper out of a revolving drum with shit players' names written on them.
