He only started 13 of their 36 league matches. :shut:

Indeed, maybe should have put it a different way, from a personal point of view a couple of trophies was fantastic... only playing a third of the season maybe not so.

Hang on, so one minute Stockdale is rejecting first choice at Brighton to go to Chelsea replacing Begovic as the backup to Courtois. Then suddenly its off to Birmingham?

What happened there? Can Brum pay more than newly promoted Brighton? Seems unlikely?

PFA and EFL Championship team of the season, 20 clean sheets. Who do you rate higher than Stockdale?

Gonna be a classic case of rating our own players more, biased or not. I wouldn't swap Stockade for Carson. Our POTY, 16 Clean sheets. Would like to see Stockdale's record with Richard Keogh and Alex Pearce in front of him

In the league last season - Westwood, Smithies Carson, Bialkowski... Bentley at a push.

It's a decent signing but he's overrated.

I would argue Johnstone also, seeing as he kept more clean sheets in the 2nd half of the season than any other keeper, and this was after a shaky start.

You hated him after the start he had saying that he never saved anything, I told you he'd come good.

Any word on a permanent deal for him?

We have signed Roderick Miranda, a defender from Rio Ave. Know next to nothing about him to be honest

I know it's Nicko so pinch of salt time but if we loan our top scorer and best player out then I'm done.

To be fair you loaned your top scorer Chris Martin to Fulham last season

His first 5-6 games were shocking, he was as bad as Gollini/Guzan... Then he improved A LOT and was brilliant for the most part.

Nah, it'll be a loan if anything, apparently Everton (probably not now), Watford and Leeds were in for him too though. I'd back us to beat Leeds to his signature, but Watford could pose a problem.

Speaking of Johnstone I just had a look at our forum and we've been linked with a £5m move for him today, as have Leeds. Funny timing.

We had Pearson who was going to go down a different route so I think that one was just debatable, he'd been linked away all summer and we weren't sure NP fancied him. On top of the fact he had his worst season for us to date, I could just about understand the reasons behind that move. Only just. Turned out to be a shocking move purely because when Pearson was sacked we reverted back to a style which was perfect for CM.

Ince on loan would be absolutely daft, absurd, mental, whatever you want to call it. It doesn't matter what style of play we play in, if he plays a good amount of games he'll score 10+ at this level every season. 15 goals last year from RM, where are we going to get a replacement from with just a loan fee incoming?! We should be doing similar to Fulham/Cairney; slap a hefty transfer fee on him and if people match it, fair doo's because everyone has their price. That's the only reason he should be leaving, an offer too good to refuse. Not a fucking loan.

If we need to free up the wage bill or muster up some funds then get rid of Bent, Olsson, Pearce, Weimann, Christie, Butterfield, Vydra, Anya, Blackman, Camara and so on before Ince. Some may be harder to shift than others but there will definitely be takers for a few.

Yeah, bossed it at Walsall. Just not up there for the Premier League yet unfortunately. Expect similar success as you got with Isgrove.

For all the uproar on here about Pickford's £22m fee, Harry Maguire is going to cost Leicester £17m....

As for Sam Johnstone, good keeper, needs to find himself a permanent club, he's 24 now and will never get a look in at Old Trafford.

Imagine he's on very good money though and United want a pretty big fee for him, think we were quoted £3m when we were promoted, it will be more now. Was disappointed we didn't bring him back but I don't think there is much between him and Chris Maxwell.

Laughable fee for Frankenmaguire as well, he's got the turning circle of an arctic truck.

Ridiculous fee for Maguire. New TV deal seems to have made prices for English players go crazy.

Maguire's out of contract next summer too. It's ridiculous.

Really? Bloody hell. You can understand why so many teams just buy players from abroad.

Signed Carmen Miranda from Portuguese club Rio Ave.
This is our 17/18 kit. But I think the hats get taken off just before the game starts.

Kevin O'Connor from Cork and Josh Harrop from United are supposedly done deals.

Declan Rudd from Norwich a likely incoming as well.

Also in the market for a centre back and talks with Everton about McGeady are on-going, if it happens then it will probably be another loan.

Alex Baptiste still a target too.

The stats point to Stockdale, Al Habsi, Carson and Westwood as being the best goalkeepers from last season.

Brighton fans would disagree, a lot of them are disappointed that he has left.

'Well this is...weird. Not the best advert for the club, losing an established player to Birmingham.'

'Gutted, he's a big loss and fear he will be hard to replace. Best of luck to him though. Gutted.'

'I wish him well but I'm disappointed that he isn't staying and playing for us next season in the PL as I hoped he would.'

'He was absolute quality for us. He SHOULD be a Premier League goalkeeper Turns out its just all about the money though.'
