We have four former academy players around our current first team (well I guess that's before our big signings and Ikeme's bad news): Ikeme, Batth, Price, Enobakhare. Then a further three who came to us from lower division as teenagers: Hause, Iorfa, Evans. I think Nathan Byrne and Jed Wallace could have achieved at Wolves but have now gone. Former academy players David Davis, Wayne Hennessy, Sam Winnall, Scott Malone, Mark Little and Stephen Gleeson are all in the Championship and then there's people like Sam Vokes, George Friend, Surman, Kightly, etc who all came to us early in their career and escaped. I am cheating a bit because that list of players is over a ten year period, but it suggests that talent is there.

To prove your point, Hennessy (plays for palace) and Malone (signed for Huddersfield yesterday) are both now playing in the Premier League.

Birmingham interested in Huddlestone along with Derby. Boro are being linked with Sheyi Ojo. (do we have any middlesborough fans on here?)

If you keep him this season he'll be one of your best players next year and will go for more than £9m in the future. Not the most outlandish claim when you were talking about rejecting £20m+ bids for him in January though.

I disagree on him being one of our best players, he's not a great left-back, as evidenced by him being easily kept out of the team by Neil Taylor, and he's not fantastic on the wing either. Besides that, he's clearly got an issue with his knee which means his injury is likely to reoccur, none of it is looking great. I'd rather be rid of him.

Regarding the £20m+ bids... Were we really? I know the Dr said so, and he's not really been known for lying, but I doubt we'd be knocking back £20million bids 6 months ago and then be willing to off him for £9million.

finally the Samu Saiz signing should be happening today, aLeeds fan in Malaga snapped a picture of him boarding the same plane to Leeds-Bradford airport

quite excited by this signing, we've beaten off some LA Liga clubs (obviously not the top clubs) Eibar were very interested in him, and some Spanish reporters were saying he was 1 of the top players in Segunda last season

don't know where this leaves Hernandez though same position and we won't play both, nice to have back-ups though

confirmed by the club, all fees and terms agreed, subject to a medical that's happening right now he's our new signing

also someone seen going into Elland Road that looks identical to Danny Batth, wouldn't be surprised with a double signing tonight or tomorrow being announced

Our Lewis Baker bid was genuine, although not been accepted yet. We've just hired Chelsea's former CEO which could give more weight to this.

Also hoping Gylfi moves to Everton, so we can get another £1m-£1.5m to spend.

Felipe Melo has been given a free transfer back to Portugal, and signed for Chaves. Only made 6 appearances in 18 months where he actually looked pretty decent, but a year long injury pretty much ended his chances at Hillsborough. Good luck to him.

On the subject of League 1 - the year we were down there, Sako, Wells, Wilson, Alli were all there (Sako was a big of an anomaly as paid £3.5 million for him) who have since gone on to play in the Prem or will be in Wells case, and this is literally just the ones I thought of on the spot.

As someone who loves coaching and development I'd prefer us not to go all Man City. I feel like our side is on the verge of having some very good younger players hitting 16+ in the next few years from the reports I have heard so would be a shame if they start getting blocked out by insane buys from abroad. Our main issue at Wolves though is we've never seemed to give players the adjustment window they needed.

Linked with Neal Maupay by our local paper. 20 year old French/Argentine forward from Saint Etienne who scored 11 goals last season on loan in the second division.

Looks like he mainly plays as a support striker or on the wing, probably a potential replacement for Jota, but might be a Vibe back up.

Lots of people saying they are going to buy a striker or two. Be good to know where they plan on finding them, there is a dearth of goalscorers ATM.

For me, makes is all the more important we keep Britt. Even if we get the £15m or whatever is quoted, we realistically won't get a better striker for that, so not sure I'd be happy selling. I imagine he will go and we will use a good chunk of that to buy a midfielder or two, but we stayed up on GD last year and he is our best goalscorer...

Don't see why we'd want Dicko. The rumour came from someone who said he knew the groundsman at Wolves and he was saying he'd be announced a couple of weeks ago - when it didn't happen and people were calling them out he was claiming he wound them all up.
