£3m apparently. If we pay that I genuinely give up.
Rather that than £5M for Fulhams' reserve keeper JJH! The fees this summer are plain daft to be fair.
The problem may be more of an issue for the likes of Forest, richer clubs are after their main striker yet they're holding firm. The problem is, when do they accept an offer and give themselves time to replace said player or risk a fed up striker?
Given todays' fees, I don't think £2.5M - £3M for Dicko is too bad.

Why would you? £1m for every goal he's scored in the last two seasons - bargain.
In all fairness, he was injured for a fair whack of that. Another point, didn't Afobe score loads when playing alongside Dicko and hasn't done anything close since?
Is £3M actually a big fee at this level any more? I don't think so TBH.

Well he was injured for the whole of one. And it's no shock when he came back he struggled, especially in a struggling team. Just think with a full pre season he could rediscover his form. Can't see it happening anyway.

Also linked with Ollie Watkins again but I think it's just old news being rehashed. We dropped our interest in January after they started massively increasing their asking price.
Someone claiming to be a Brentford fan has come onto Exeweb today claiming that the deal is very close to happening according to people ITK. I'm still sceptical as I get the feeling we're asking for big money (£3 - 4M). Have Brentford got that sort of money?

I expect clubs will wait to the last minute to go in with lower offers in the hope that we will take a cut price on deadline day.

We've made about £25m transfer profit over the past couple of years, so we have the money, but I'd guess we'd at most offer £1.5-£2m including add ons.

Think this one is a non starter. We clearly like the player but we only buy value now.

If it's £3m then I wouldn't go for it. £1.5-£2m, maybe more if we get promoted, and I'd pay it.

I just wouldn't sign him, Taylor is a better striker and if he can keep his head infront of goal like he was doing at Rovers he'll get 15 this season because he was getting into the positions consistently.

Your lot are ungrateful anyway - Vibe is a good striker and Brentford fans don't seem to rate him for some reason.

So are Southampton! Any idea why Austria's the place to be this summer? Not quite Asia/United States.

Rotherham too!

Don't see why we'd want Dicko. The rumour came from someone who said he knew the groundsman at Wolves and he was saying he'd be announced a couple of weeks ago - when it didn't happen and people were calling them out he was claiming he wound them all up.

I should hope we don't leak our transfer dealings to our groundsman

Not sure how much to value Dicko at but I doubt it would be much, maybe 2m in the current market?

He's a decent striker, but his ability to convert chances is pretty poor. Wouldn't get rid of him, just we've been spoiled with Hogan and Gray over the past couple of years, makes us wish for another striker of their quality.

Vibe is the only striker we have anyway, so even if we all rated him as amazing we'd still be looking to sign a couple up

Lots of people saying they are going to buy a striker or two. Be good to know where they plan on finding them, there is a dearth of goalscorers ATM.
When you spend £15m on a defender, agents tend to beat a path to your door. The goalscorers will find us. Problem is, we will overpay for them.

I'd take Vibe in a heartbeat, game I watched with him he ran the show. Think he'd be great just in behind Diedhiou for us as a link between him and the midfield.

Dicko is quality.
I'm surprised at just how many of our fans have such a small club mindset (and yes, I know we are a small club at this level, but that os what we are trying to change).

£3m isn't cheap, but this isn't like in 2007 where £2.5m was huge money for this level. £3m is a relatively sensible price for a championship player in todays market.

I can't wait to see the 15 million pound version of Joe Mason.

In what way is that a "small club mindset"? Not wanting to sign a striker who's scored 3 in 2 years and has had bad injury problems for £3m? The fuck are you on about?

I'm not saying £3m is a lot of money but it is for Dicko we don't need him.

That was more of a general comment, but hey-ho. Have a rant.

He had a pretty serious injury and missed an entire season but, from what I gather, played reasonably enough since returning.
He's 24-25? So will improve.

For £3m I'd rather look to try and get another Kodjia or put it towards a better British based player.

Jockney and any other Millwall fans - is Harry Smith any good? Just been linked with a loan deal.

Well that wasn't clear at all - but if it was, I agree with you.

Yeah he's come back from the injury and looked naff. You'd do well to remember we signed Ekstrand 12 months ago, one of the best centre halves in the division when Watford went up but had his career ruined by injury. Dicko had a bad injury similar to Ekstrand and has came back a different player.

A couple of years ago I'd have agreed with you on Dicko, now I wouldn't want us to go near him for 3 million pounds.

Or invest it into a position we actually need, like a winger. Get in McManaman or something.

Well yeah, but was referring to in case of a striker.

Yeah, he's decent for a big man. Bit rough around the edges. Scored a few goals in cameo appearances, but also looked out of his depth a lot of the time (understandable). If he does well, think you'll get him permanently as Harris doesn't particularly like him (rumours about poor attitude).

Cheers, you're the best!

Hopefully be an asset in League 2 then.

I can't wait to see the 15 million pound version of Joe Mason.

If we were the buyer, then Joe Mason would be the £15m Joe Mason.

I'm intrigued by the waiting. There has to be a striker deal being brewed, and I can't believe it's a loaner (Unless it's Ibrahimovic). Much as I like Enobakhare, Mason and Dicko (and Bodvarsson), I don't believe these will keep the owners and the new regime happy. I reckon someone a bit disgruntled, maybe in the shadow of someone a bit better, or currently a bit injured. If not already a bit injured, we can arrange that in the first few months of playing for us. (Zyro, Graham, Wilkinson, Rowe, etc)

Chicharito? Alassane Pléa? Maybe Mame Diouf? All into the last year of their contracts, I think. Pléa would be good. Yeh, we'll have one of him...one Alessane Pléa, a decaff skinny latté and an iced bun, please miss.
