FC Twente as CU said, Flint's not starting either. You can have Flint now we have Baker if you like...

Think it's dependant on if Shotton goes, Middlesbrough had a bid rejected last week. More likely he's there to look over the players before we play you in two weeks.

Can't imagine it being that low. Was rumours that we rejected £500k and then an "improved" bid a few weeks ago.

Good luck to him, will be nice to see another academy player playing regularly at this level. He just wasn't going to get a look in here, being fourth choice to defenders who are all no more than 2 years older than him. And a liability we can't afford if we're aiming for the top half.

If it's anything less than £750k than I would assume we would have filled it with clauses. He could make it to the Prem, but IMO is destined to be a top Championship defender at best.

Seems as though the fee was close to a million. I don't know what his ceiling is, but I would be surprised if he doesn't mature into a very decent Championship player. Along with Wallace, we will probably make a profit on him in a season or so.

I hope we put some sort of sell on clause on Wallace, can see him thriving at another club. Doubt we will have any such clause on Saville though.

Think we'll cash in anyway, will get big offers and selling him for more than we bought Baker for will be good business

The rumour for that on our end being around £5million.

No chance that we've paid anywhere near that figure Jase without putting the flags out. That would be the 2nd highest figure (yeah, tinpot to you) that we have EVER paid.
Maybe half that plus add ons would be my guess, certainly nowhere near £5M.

Sounds about right to me, it's not like he was unwanted at Villa and desperate to leave, he played a lot last year, £5m sounds about right in this market.

Don't go up this year and Carlos dream is over

Rightly so mate, I wanted to keep him this season but if he doesn't learn from last season's mistakes he will be gone by January. If I see Barry Bannan playing wide midfield again this season I'll throw my ticket in the don.

Apparently Flint was upset "nearly in tears" last night.
When asked, he said "it was out of his hands"

Forcing out our best two players this summer, absolutely bizarre.

Signed Fulham's Ryan Tunnifcliffe on two-year-deal, apparently. :dk:

With Tomlin it is good riddance.
A bigger disruption than a positive and forced himself out.

With Flint the impression I am getting is that his agent has been trying to get a move, rather than Flint. The club have just made their position the strongest they can.

Also from the sounds of it, Flint (along with Ayling) wanted out when Cotterill was sacked.

I get the impression Flint likes being a cult hero, but isn't committed to the club. He has been stirring things up with what he has been reacting to on social media.

If he doesn't want to be here then get rid, we got plenty of cover there.

The club isn't forcing Flint out, Flints agent is trying to force a move.

Tomlin forced himself out.

If it was Flint's agent, it wouldn't be out of Flint's hands right?

Depends exactly on the situation I think.
By signing Baker the club holds all the cards and weakens the agents position. As does the fact Flint got a 3 year contract in December.

Can't see the club offering such a deal and then forcing him out 7 months later unless he was causing a disruption.

That post was very much a slimmed down one of what I put before.

I can say with great confidence that City aren't trying to force Flint out.

Can't see a way that that statement can be true, and the one where Flint says it's out of his hands... just don't add up mate

By the sounds of it you can't spend no more either. Although many clubs don't give a fuck about ffp you sound like you're sticking to the rules. Anyway playoffs again for you Imo.

TBH, wouldn't be surprised if Flint was being dishonest, but that's what he said (didn't catch the exact question asked, or the full bit he said before about wanting to stay or leave).
Just a few years ago Baldock told fans there was no way he was leaving, a week later he signed for Brighton.

Johnson hinted about Flint not being happy here in his post match interview.
