Be surprised if Davies has gone there to play backup. 200+ appearances for us in the last few years, 27 next, Butland will be gone, had other suitors (apparently) and on the brink of the Wales squad.

Think he’s fully expecting to be number one come August. Could be wrong mind, they’ve at least doubled what we offered him I’m sure and a big payday takes precedence over game time for most players to be fair .

Jacob Brown has signed a new contract until 2022. Was outstanding second half of season and looking forward to seeing if he can do it at this level, brilliant news.

Get what you’re saying given some fan comments when you came back up but only really Duffy, Basham and Sharp “L1 journeymen” mainstays in your side unless I’ve missed anyone? Maybe Fleck but he was young and excelling at that level when you signed him anyway.

Wouldn’t call Billy Sharp a league one journeyman, only played like 4 or 5 seasons below the 2nd tier hasn’t he?

Can see Barnsley being fine, same for Luton to be honest, think Sunderland would be financially strong to do enough but Charltons off field matters will make em another Bolton.

I will say though all four clubs will need to bolster their frontmen, don't see a lot of Championship level goals in any of the squads, I may be wrong as I've hardly watched them in any depth, I like Moore at Barnsley but can't see Grigg, Collins, Wyke or Taylor banging em in, all similar players.

Woodrow will be our top striker next season I reckon. People seem to ignore the fact that most of his Fulham appearances came from the bench, he’s a bloody brilliant finisher and I honestly think he’s in for a good season. Might put up a charity bet closer to August. Could be that league one is his level but I’m definitely willing to take a punt based on what I’ve seen.

Many didnt think Collins would make the step up to League 1 so its fair comment.

With him its a fairly simple equation though, if you create chances he will score them, if you dont then he will put in a good shift and do a lot of "defending from the front" but he wont create opportunities for himself if that makes sense. It will be more important how the creative players like Shinnie/Lee step up. If they do then Collins will be fine I think. If they dont then he wont be effective either.

Look at most of his goals from this past season and he'll score them at any level - many of them are Jack Stacey or Shinnie putting it on a plate for him!

Woodrow ex Luton too. Left as a kid.

Absolutely no idea who will do what but id like to think Barnsley and outselves have enough good football about us to do ok.They have the added experience we dont having just recently come down.

For us as fans its much like last season, not knowing much about the League or the players. Esp me overseas - never heard of half the players mentioned. Having a Manager who is experienced in the Championship - if not as the boss - is a bonus. Last season i hoped wed be competitive and challenge for a playoff. Had a suspciion we could do more but not win it.

Clearly this season will be tough. We'll prob get pasted quite a few times and suddenly we're a small fish in a big pond - neither of which have happened in quite a while. So lets see. Bring it on

Looking at the money at this level has been a bit of a reality check already to be honest, ive sort of not paid too much attention to it whilst we have been on our journeys back here but its a different ball game since last time! Anything above that dotted relegation line is going to be a big achievement I think.

Straying off on a tangent perhaps, but we didnt always look that great against the better sides last season I thought, which gives me a bit of pause.

When you've got clubs coming down with £100m in the bank for failure it's a struggle for loads of teams, crazy money now here.

I feel really sorry for you if this is the case. He’s absolute shite in the Championship. May well be decent in L1 but so were other strikers without any pace like Garner, Vaughan, Grigg etc.

Charity bet he doesn’t score more than 10 league goals?
Think Craig said he'd make a bet later in the summer when squads are closer to being sorted, I'm willing to have a bet later on too, though I'm happy with my bet with BM already.

Should’ve taken that bet with you half way through last season when you were adamant you’d still finish ahead of us :bg1:

Like Southey says I want to see how the rest of the squad looks come August but I’ll more than likely be taking you up on that one.
