On the plus side for us Clarke has said he is hopeful on bringing in 2 or 3 players in the near future.

The very bad news is that Toor-Free Playus is a 36 year old midfielder with Thai PL club Bangkok North End. He once came on as an 85th substitute in an U21 game against Sri Lanka.

I think the good thing here is that we're getting all our transfers done early - Not leaving it all until deadline day and whatever and that can only be a good thing as it allows players to blend into the squad and get going before the season.

I also think it's funny how some people think we're overspending, maybe so if Ince/Shackell come in but so far we've spent around 3M and so many transfers go above that alone. Our wage bill wasn't high before, very mid table really and we probably get the most money coming in to the club in the whole league, excluding parachute payments. This allows us to spend more, and if we stay within FFP we're well within our rights, although the whole process is a farce and needs to be evaluated looking at QPR.

Brentford reportedly interested in Nathan Byrne from Swindle. Would be a fantastic signing - he's a real attacking outlet with great pace. Would thrive in the Championship.

Damn.Just after i had got my hopes up.I suppose it could have been worse.Could have signed the Southampton legend that is Ali Dia.

Stephen Quinn is the latest rumour.

Ignore SF, Lonergan is a good keeper.

Is he bollocks, I don't trust the opinion of anyone who rates him.

People who know fuck all get wowed by some of the reflex saves he makes, and he is a good shot stopper... but absolutely wank at everything else.

Dealing with crosses, awful. Communication, awful. Distribution, awful. Anticipation and coming off his line, beyond awful. His feet are constantly planted on the floor as well which is why he gets beat from range so often, because he's a fucking bollard who is never expecting the shot.

I'd rather have Jamie Jones in goal.

Great in attack definitely but I would certainly question his defensive ability.

Shows what Fulham's ambitions are when they're signing bang average players like Ben Pringle.

To be fair I think I was like 14 when I left but I always remember him being excellent before he broke his hand against QPR and then people seem to vilify him for absolutely everything that went wrong when he came back.

Powells keen too, fits our bill of investing in young decent lower league players.

Dean Whitehead stuck between us n Burnley.

I wouldn't be too unhappy if we lost out on that one. I'm sure he'd be a decent squad player, and his experience would come in handy, but I'm not sure he'd make into our starting XI.

He was average in an average team last year. You're only as good as what's around you - and from what I've seen of him, he has the potential to be a very good Championship player.

Not from what I've seen of him from his time at Derby.

Only think this would happen if we lost Odubajo, and would much rather keep him. We've had Byrne before, and he was pretty bad. Granted he's had a few years since then to improve, but I don't think he be any better than what we have already.

Then again, it's a rumour that's been around for 6 months or so now, so must have something behind it.

I've seen him for both Ilkeston and Derby over the years and I will commend his work ethic, but I just don't think he has that much ability.

He's a good passer, which is his main strength, but I think he lacks intelligence and raw ability in other areas to ever get to that level. I'm sure he will put in a shift for Fulham and rarely give less than 100% but I don't expect him to become a match winner at this level anytime soon.

Nice guy, though.

Lonergan has dodgy hands and dodgy eyes. Any shot from outside the box is an automatic goal.

I remember against someone they kicked the ball back back from the half way line after we knocked it out of play as part of good sportsmanship and it went in :fl:

Nixon reckons Bridcutt to Derby is now a formality. Jesus Christ.

Probably means Thorne is a write off mind.

Read somewhere that us, PNE, Charlton and Brentford are interested in some ex-Real Madrid kiddy called Fran Sol.

Never heard of him, and it's probably bullshit anyway. Plays for Villareal now.

Surely won't come cheap seeing as we sold him for £3m only 18 months ago. Be interesting to see how he gets on in a non-Poyet team though, where the system was essentially built around his very specific holding-mid role. There is the Chelsea connection with Clement, so I can see that he'd probably know him pretty well.

Elsewhere, we're apparently bringing in ex-hero Ben Roberts as our new goalkeeping coach from Charlton, replacing Antti Niemi. That's as exciting as it gets for us at the moment.

Ince about done as well.

"It's all within FFP though, we have global revenue to challenge Barca and City. And it's not like McClaren handed out huge contracts last summer to keep our better players who will now sit on the bench"

Maybe I'm just jealous, they're building some squad.

This is either going to be brilliant or horrible.

Fully expecting to sell Hendrick now to fund all this, surely we can't get through FFP without selling.

I know it's already been discussed to death on these pages, but it is getting a bit nuts. Surely Hughes must be on his way this summer to fund all this spending?

EDIT: Or Hendrick, then. Surely he wouldn't fetch half as much, though?

If Derby don't go up this season I can see them in a lot of trouble next year. Really is shit or bust for them.

Then again with that squad they should walk this league... but it's never that easy.

I guess if they buy Ince, Bridcutt, Weimann and Shackell for 11m or whatever and flog Hughes for 10m then fair play.

Big wages in that squad though and the disparity can't be a good thing surely.
