Dack linked with Brighton.

I imagine he'll go. Last season we were carried by him, as indicated by our form falling off a cliff when he got injured. This season we do have other options in his position (though not at his level) so it wouldn't be the end of the world if we sold now. Also gives us a chance to get a keeper, centre back and forward in before the end of the window.

Also scored a goal that I felt was very important in the context of our season, the first in the comeback win vs you.

Then it's time the little shit repaid us! That game was the end of our season, we fell off a cliff from there. We'd have gone down regardless, don't get me wrong, but it may not have been so damned embarrassing!

It's Bradford that Armstrong's linked with, MagpieBee, not Brentford.

Rotherham also interested apparently.

We were in for Armstrong before Newcastle signed Gayle and was told to wait but we moved on and ultimately haven't signed a striker so wouldn't be suprised to see him at NYS.

I'd be disappointed if we aren't even asking the question about Armstrong if he's being linked with Rotherham and Bradford.

Haillay already covered the flaws in this post. But to add to it... there's every chance he'll make his breakthrough in our team the next 2-3 years, that's what the club is aiming for. He's highly rated by our coaching staff and obviously we'd like him to succeed in black and white but he needs to be playing regular first team football to carry on his development at the moment. He's not ready to play for us every week and that's why we're going to loan him out again. Loaning out promising young players who aren't quite ready is not something unique to us. Again, he's a 19 year old kid with his whole career ahead of him. Is playing regular first team football really ruining his career? I'd argue it's quite the opposite and warming the bench for us while making the odd appearance is far more likely to be a detriment to his development.
I wasn't suggesting that loaning him out would be to his detriment, most clubs will have a young player or 2 at least on loan somewhere. But if it is going to take 3 more seasons, plus this one and last season that's 5 years where he's being shipped out. What I was questioning was whether he'd be happy with that, or if at some point he might might get an offer from another championship club who would be happy with him in the first team squad- not necessarily on the bench every game, but starting some and a sub for others- and would want that instead.

I suppose more than anything I'm asking about the mentality he has, whether he'd become more determined to make the breakthrough at Newcastle. Or whether he'd start to feel unwanted (perhaps the wrong word) and want to drop to a smaller club, even if its the same league, and work up from there.

Yedlin of Spurs at SJP tonight following a medical. Apparently giving way for Janmaat to leave.

We've rejected two bids for Morsy, one from Sheff Utd and also rejected a bid for Colclough. Considering we signed him for 500k plus add ons and a big sell on, I can't imagine us letting him go unless it was a loan, which considering he may not get much gametime could be a good idea. I wish we could just fast forward to deadline day now. Fed up of waiting for a bloody RB and striker.

Possibly one of our other attacking midfield targets after Pritchard fell through. Read plenty of decent things about Dack but he's obviously unproven at this level - reckon he'd make the step up?

Romain Saiss close to signing from Angers in France. Moroccan international defensive midfielder who was their player of the season last year.

Apparently Villa want him too.

Pleased with this, in the summer someone asked me who I would like us to sign and I said Bodvarsson the Icelandic, the prince of Congo and some Anglers bloke...

joking aside pleased with our signings so far performance wise. CB and Striker the last things I feel need addressing. Happy to stick with Ikeme to see how he does, his complete lack of agility is redeemed by how physical and commanding he usually is coming for crosses (most of the time)

News article on him I read said he's established in the Lens first team, would imagine it would be a permanent deal if that's the case.

Monk still wants more. Not sure what positions. Possibly another DM with Diagouraga presumably on his way out. LB also looks likely. Striker as well maybe.

No idea, it's been tweeted by a journalist now anyway. CARAW told me about it on Twitter. Will be big money if it's a permanent deal.

Long shot but if we splashed some cash to sign Rhodes I'd be extremely happy with our summer business. The foundations are there to have a very good season.
