Will he? He's done ok in American soccer (in a league that's a lower quality to the Championship) but it's not like he's blown the doors off over there. Bradley Wright Phillips has done better in America than Rooney.

He still looked decent playing for Everton a season ago.

This division is becoming more like the Premier League each year, relegation will be a mercy.

We've signed Paul Jones as 3rd choice keeper while Wildsmith is injured. Promotion is on.

We are signing two more keepers, this Samba youth and Scott Carson.

Rooney won't do much, he's past it. Might score the odd screamer but can't see him keeping up with the pace for the majority of games.

Think it's actually a fairly poor signing from Derby who should be looking at signing younger players with potential to improve.

I don't see it, Wayne Rooney sat in deeper positions, linking play, I think he'll stand out like a sore thumb.

Average Prem players like Joey Barton have come down here in recent years and still bossed it.

Rooney is going to boss it. He's still only 33 and will be far and away the best player, technically, in the league.

They won't get 90 minutes out of him twice a week but even if he plays 60% of their matches he will make a huge difference.

The one we had... isn't he in his 50's?

Depends how you see it, it's great from a commercial/marketing point of view. He's still a decent footballer too, you don't lose talent like his overnight.

I really hope this is true - Arlind Ajeti apparently due in for a medical tomorrow. Deal not fully agreed yet but like the Mbuemo deal we're hoping the visit will help convince him to join.

I don't think Rooney will tear it up, he's not that sort of player anymore. He'll be played a bit deeper but I can imagine he will be absolutely quality on the ball.

Coming in after a full season in the MLS and then straight into a Championship season will be hard too, Ashley Cole couldn't really get going when he came in last January.

Carson to Forest is odd if they're already spending money on a decent keeper, the reason he's not been able to find another club is his astronomical wage demands. Still a good keeper though so will be a good pick up at this level whoever takes the plunge.

Looks like our self imposed transfer embargo may finally be over.

Close to deals for George Puscas (£10m) and Lucas Joao (£5m).

Also, Rafael, an ex Napoli keeper who has played for Brazil, and Pele, from Monaco, are apparently nearing completion as well.

I think that one is a load of rubbish.

To be honest there are rumours about 3-4 strikers at the moment, so it's difficult to tell what is true or not. It might be that we're looking to bring in both.

Rooney’s requested a hotel in Derby somewhere near here:

So Cardiff now in for Isaac Vassell for £3m and he was pulled out of the side ahead of tonight’s Birmingham game - appears that now Swansea have signed others, they’re out of the race.

Not sure what they’re drinking in South Wales but in my opinion he’s not worth that.

We’ve had a £7m bid accepted for Saman Ghoddos - yeah I’ve no idea either.

Striker who scored 4 times in the French top flight last season...

Love the ambition of a £7m bid, trust the DoFs to put it in the right place.

Nagy, a Hungarian international from Bologna plus Pereira from Benfica expected imminently.
Nkethia and a centre back hoped for soon after.
We've bought a whole new team this summer! :bl:

If we manage to bring the Croatian lad, Tom Pearce and Marcus Tavernier in before deadline this will go from being a very good window to an amazing one.
