Our game is just a case of how many exeter will beat us by, the result is a foregone conclusion.

Get jackett out ffs, clueless, stubborn, incompetent dinosaur.
Funny how this one seems to be working out. In the summer I wish we had gone for him tbh, especially after you absolutely battered us at our place as well.

I do think (based on no evidence) that if you keep him though he’ll turn out alright for you

I’m inclined to agree. I think we were Orients first game back after their break and they looked very similar to how we looked against Swindon, it’s almost like going through another pre-season to get back up to speed. Did think their LCB Ogie looks like he is going to be some player but obviously that alone isn’t going be enough.

Suppose the flip side is a lot of the criticism am seeing of Jackett is similar to what a fair few Portsmouth fans were saying but I think his track record overall is not too shabby.

He seems like an old school manager and a pretty likeable character. I'm with you in the fact that Orient, like us, have basically had to start the season again. Earlier in the season, they were battering teams, especially at home and looked a dead cert for top 7.

It's gone a bit messy in the last few months and I believe they too have had injuries. In any normal season I suspect them and us would currently be comfortably top 7.

I wouldn't give up on jackett yet.

Time to take our cup form into the league. As others have said, time to switch to the 433 and take the game to barrow, rather than sitting with five at the back. Massive game for us this as our league form has been piss poor for a while now and a big win after the January window and the FA cup day out at Palace might kick start the second half of the season.

You did beat us 3-0 this season so I think it's a bit far to say it's a foregone conclusion, always gotta have faith mucker.

That said, I'm sticking with my 4-0 prediction

Colchester tonigbt, have a feeling it might be tricky, sadly drew down there with a last minute penalty when should have been out of sight, hopefully such a performance doesn’t happen again.

I'm dreading the team sheet tonight, heart's gonna sink when I see a back five and Molyneux upfront :ffs:

Randomly got a sense of optimism for tonight and think we might win.

Sure that will be drained from me when we boot the ball out straight from kick off

After two decent results in the past week or so, a third is probably too much to ask. We'll make changes tonight as the same line-up started both of those games, but we've got decent options now in most positions and have good attacking options in the bench, which we've not had previously.

Luke James has been starting recently - no goals this season and just signed a new contract, so I reckon he'll get on the scoresheet tonight.

I’m naively hoping with it being at home we are going to show a bit more bollocks. I understand being a bit more shrewd in away games, but no excuse for us to not go for it.

The fact Luke James has had a handful of spells at Pools means its pretty nailed on he will score.

It seemed at one stage in the summer that he was set to re-join you, and to be honest I thought he'd leave in January. For a striker that doesn't score, he's a decent player - but he's definitely due a goal tonight!

We waited 24 games for a goal from Luke James and it still never came. Surprised he is still playing league footy

Millen isn't going to make changes because he wants to be consistent.

Carlisle's form: D D L L L

Carlisles last 7 games of the season.

Tranmere (A)
Exeter (H)
Warsaw (A)
Mansfield (H)
Harrogate (A)
Stevenage (H)
Bradford (A)

You wouldn’t want to be needing more than a handful of points going into that…

I can remember one stand out fixture against Lou Macari’s Swindon in the 80’s when 6 inches of snow fell overnight and the supporters of both clubs cleared the snow away to get the game on. Baldy Frank Worthington’s Rovers won 3-1 with on loan Liam Robinson getting a brace. Big result for us at the time because Swindon went on to win the league with a record breaking 102 points.
Will take the same result tomorrow night please.
Yes, I remember that. Our better players back then were often loan signings that just lasted a few weeks, Robinson and Adrian Thorpe springing to mind. I doubt the game would be played nowadays.

I think we barely won again all season after that victory.

Same here.
When we went 4-3-3 on Saturday,we started giving Palace a run for their money after hardly getting out of own half in the first 45 minutes.
Morris will start instead of Feath & hopefully White.
He looked good on Saturday ,and I would imagine we’ve been told by Newcastle that he has play while he’s here.

I would've gave up on Pools if we signed him again, the lad has had one good season in his career, runs for days but so would a dog in a footy shirt.

bloody hell making them go to Poland for a crucial game is a bit harsh

As for tonight’s game. Surely it’s another defeat, I can’t see anything else.

Our record against teams in the top half is absolutely shocking. Really can’t see that changing tonight considering how shit we currently are.

We never ever make it that easy for ourselves. Even if you've had 20 straight defeats we always seem to struggle to do over teams in poor form. We struggled to put Scunthorpe away the other day. We still have injuries to 3 key players, which doesn't help.

I'd be delighted with a scrappy 1-0 to be honest.

Yeah we really should be looking for 3 points tonight after having another game postponed at the weekend. Expecting to see the same line up as started against FGR injury permitting.

Will go for a 0-2 win, Wilson to get back up and running again.

I don’t buy this easy win for us tonight (Carlisle fans always say this).

Granted their scoring record is poor, 9 goals at home but on the flip side they’ve only conceded 12! So it wont be easy, our strike force is still gelling and we haven’t been ruthless since we came back.

Whilst we were battering sides in October and early November 4 or 5 we have been mainly scoring the odd set piece a game since our covid break.

If you defend Husseys admittedly superb delivery from set pieces well enough we probably won’t score.

Half of the defence is crocked. We’ll be playing a makeshift right back and a Southampton centre back who is completely out of his depth.

Aaron Martin is out which is a shame as he’s hit form… oddly though with a centre half out we’ve replaced him with a striker! So three strikers on, three defenders one of which is a left back but no apparent right back.

No idea what formation that is. Possibly 3-4-3?
