Without knowing the formation it looks like an aggressive lineup for Vale. It looks to me like Brad Walker will be at CB if we are going three at the back.

If Walker is centre half then who’s the third man in the middle? Surely DJ would play if three unless Hussey is centre half but then who’s wing back on the left?!

I’m confused by that line up but it’s attacking which is good.

Interestingly no Lucas after his ban is complete…

Millen rings the changes, massively. Surprised to see Windsor feature but Millen does put a lot of faith in the teenagers he loans from big clubs, they certainly aren't just here to make up the numbers. It's a bit of a guess as far as formation goes, but with four players who are forwards on paper I imagine we will be 4-4-2

Bench: Norman, Roberts, Devitt, Gibson, Fishburn, Alessandra, Dennis

what's gone wrong with the midfield guy who scored loads of goals last season?

19 year old Lewis Warrington making his Tranmere debut tonight. In for the injured Jay Spearing. That’s a big pair of boots to fill on your debut. See the Bamber Bridge keeper is on our bench tonight.

We're playing a Left Back as a defensive midfielder instead of Ryan East which does seem a strange decision.

Mellish is an enigma... was never really a midfielder, certainly not a forward, probably not a defender any more either. He was something of a luxury player last season in a side that would create plenty of chances for him to score and cover his weaknesses in midfield. Not been the case this season.

We'll see once the game kicks off but I would imagine it's a 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2 with Wilson playing deep behind Harratt and Edmondson. I don't know if we've looked at Carlisle and just determined maybe we can take a risk against them as scoring isn't their forte.

As for Lucas obviously in a vacuum he is a better keeper than Stone but he has a lot of trust he needs to rebuild. Can only have himself to blame.

Ha, so much for his quote about not wanting to make changes...

Strictly he’s replacing Foley who I think has indicated he’d find it hard to play twice a week. Hope he does well on debut and is as good as the Everton fans think he is. I have some reservations that this is the best game to introduce him, but Micky’s clearly seen enough.

My first home Tuesday night game in over 2 years, hoping it goes well, but Swindon games don’t always pan out that way.

DC plays the same mind games and dare say he wouldn’t be taken in by it, he refuses to update fans on injuries so you never know who’s fit or available.

Callum Guy injured?

Just looking at the iFollow stream the pitch at Carlisle looks in great nick. Certainly compared to the pudding that we play on.

5 minutes in and we've given away the ball in our half 5 times

This has to be a contender for the worst L2 team ever

Kane Hemings scores after 5 minutes. Fitting tribute to Nate.

Just 85 minutes to hang on now.

I think you’d be going some to be worse than that Donny team who got relegated to the conference though granted they were being asset stripped by a crook.

Carlisle have looked pretty useful since going behind. Great to have the lead but these are a bit better than they’ve been made to sound.

Terrible defending. Thrown away total control of the game with that.

1-1 now, we really need to get to grips with Patrick I think. Should have been 2-0 up just before that.

When we have the ball we look decent but always prone to a self inflicted wound.

Absolutely amazing goal by rhys oates, gets the ball on the halfway line, runs through a crowd of colchester players and belts it into the corner from 20/25 yards out.

Colchester should be down to 10 after a shocking challenge by weradu (spelling) who apart from that looks a decent player

How the fuck are we winning this?
