We watched three episodes of Man in the high castle but didn't think much of it. Is it worth sticking with?

Currently on season two of The Shield too which is pretty decent.
I gave up with Man In The High Castle after 4 episodes it was that dull, shame really as it was a good idea and something different but didn't get anywhere near my expectations.

finished watching Sense8... just glad they have decided to do a 'final' episode as such, that would have been the worst ending to a show ever otherwise

but i did like it

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Not seen this week's Rick and Morty yet but heard it's a stunner.

Meanwhile the latest series of BoJack Horseman is top drawer.

'The Old Sugarman Place' and 'Time's Arrow' are fantastic.

Rick & Morty. Finished the second season last night. It's very good. Fun, inventive and at times very dark. I can see why it's hyped.

Yeah I started that recently and, 2 and a half seasons in, can see why it's got such a big presence online and in general pop culture in such a short time. It's fantastic.

The 'Pickle Rick' episode in series three was the best yet, just hilarious.

Finished Braindead this week.

Set in Washington DC, it's political intrigue and Machiavellian backstabbing set against the backdrop of an alien invasion via insects that eat your brains and take over your body. Worth it just for the 'Previously On' sections at the start of each episode.

Cancelled after one series, unfortunately.

Also watched the first couple of episodes of The Orville, the new Sci-Fi comedy from Seth McFarlane. It's ok.

Star Trek: Discovery had a decent start. Wonder if the studio forgot about the three letter acronym system that the fans use when they named it...

It's been good. A bit confusing watching it side by side with The Orville... Keep expecting a blob voiced by Norm Macdonald to turn up.

Finally finished Stranger Things. I enjoyed it, just in time for series 2!

I have also started Relik; can't work out if I like it.

American Vandal is a very good true crime parody and a surprisingly good mystery. I would readily accept a second series.

Bojack Horseman. It’s good - weird premise but it’s very clever and has some good running jokes. Only 14 episodes in out of 49 though.

Saw Russia with Simon Reeve thing, pretty much confirmed my thoughts about what isolated Russia was like!

Watched yesterday a German TV film called "Zwischen Himmel und Hölle (Between Heaven and Hell)" on the eve of the 31st October which marks the 500th anniversary of the proclamation of Luther's 95 theses (today we have an official holiday, thank you for that Herr Luther )
The film was about the events of the 31st October 1517 and the years after that. It was shown on German TV Channel ZDF.

Really exciting times back then. German Monk Martin Luther first only rebels against the so-called "sale of indulgences" of the Catholic Church where the poor peasants could buy a "forgiveness of their sins" when they pay to the Catholics. Later the Catholic Church was even more inventive in milking the poor when they decided that they can even buy forgiveness for their deads.
When Luther proclaimed his 95 theses in Wittenberg (the printing was already invented by Gutenberg so the leaflets could be spread out everywhere) it was the begin of a keystone moment in German and even World History.

At that time Germany was known as the "Heiliges Römisches Reich Deutscher Nation (HRRDN)" (Holy Roman Empire of German Nation). And the "Holy Roman" indicates that this was a Catholic Empire, German Kaiser (Emperors) were crowned by the Pope already for centuries and now this little german monk tries to insult the Catholic Empire. Shocking :D
Other Reformer like the priest Thomas Münzer began to hold a catholic mass in German language. A sacrilege because back then a catholic mass had to be held in Latin.
The Church leaders feared about their 'income" and their influence and so Luther was indicted in 1521 in Worms before a tribunal lead by Emperor Karl V. For the Habsburgian Emperor Luther was a heretic. He got an Empirial ban so could be beaten to death by everyone without consequences. He could escape to Saxony onto the Wartburg. The Elector of Saxony, Friedrich, was always a supporter of Luther. In his years at the Wartburg he translated the (Latin) Bible into German.
Luther wasn't a saint, he didn't like the uneducated peasants and really hated the jews but his protest against the Catholic Church marks the begin of the reformation and the "cut the cord" of the Catholic Church in the German Empire.

Although I am not a "churchgoer" I am still paying my church tax and I am still a member of the protestant church (to be exact our confession here in the north is called evangelic lutheran. The North of Germany is nowadays mostly protestant (with some catholic enclaves) whereas the south of Germany is still mostly catholic minted.

I better stop now. Won't be read anyway (tl;dr) and I'm now tired from making so many english sentences. Thanks to everyone who read it and forgive me any grammar, semantic or other errors I made by translating from German to English in my head ;)

repent and submit to Rome

I am surprised there's not been more made about it. Not sure what I was expecting but it's a pretty momentous anniversary.

I saw the first series and really liked it but haven't really been in the mood of watching series two onwards particularly once I read about what happened to Escobar after his escape.
