I know it is temporary, but considering how far behind we were, it is a nice relief to be out of the bottom three

You were down and out a few weeks ago. What's changed?

No idea, football is getting slightly better.I guess it just took our players a bit of time to get clued up about the Championship again

Vela and Ameobia coming back from injury helped I would imagine

The signing of Karl Henry seemed to make a big difference as well

What a lad, a better midfielder tactically than most Wolves fans ever saw, decent distribution when keeping it simple, just had too many crazy moments. People wanted him dropped though and when he was suspended for 4 games during our prem plunge we let In 5 twice and 15 overall and fans still moaned on his return.

Hull may as well say hello to league one if they appoint Nigel adkins

He's not terrible, but certainly not the man you want in a relegation fight with a team that can't defend.

How the fuck can he even get a job when he has completely failed miserably in his last 2 jobs, and I mean truly abysmally.

Feel sorry for the Hull fans having to listen to the bollocks he normally speaks after a game especially when they lose. Some of the most inept Reading performances iv ever seen were when he was our manager and iv been watching us since 1993.

Definitely not looking positive for Hull going forward. When will he be sacked then? Place your bets now.

In hindsight I don't think he did nearly as bad a job as was made out at the time. None of us were really aware of the shit-storm behind closed doors at the club. You can tell that he was expecting / promised a lot more than he was given. Our top scorer was sold dirt cheap to avoid administration. We went 13 months where our only first-team signing was Chris Baird on a 3 month contract. Difficult to change the style of football when you are keeping the same players at the club.. he battled through that and got results that were no worse than Steve Clarke or Brian McDermott v2.0 managed.

What didn't help him was his mouth.. targeting 100 goals and 23 clean sheets in our first season down.. the same regurgigated press-conferences.."The positivity of being positive, is so positive." In a team flying high and playing great football, sounds great, but not in a team heading for 19th. He failed here more because he lost the fanbase, than because of results. I never felt like he was Reading manager. Oh, and he couldn't organise a defence.

Still can’t see it been anymore than 3 from us, Sunderland, blues and Bolton. Hull possibly - the rest are fine I’m sure.
We are dead certs, so it’s the other two places...unless we work miracles in the January window.

Barnsley and QPR are in horrendous form right now - with Bolton and Sunderland slowly improving I can see the two get pulled in to the mess at the bottom.

Effectively eight points clear and with the teams below us in poor form. Next two games are Derby and Wolves, though, so we could be right back in it again in time for Christmas.

Strange. He did get Southampton in the Premiership and I seem to recall that most Saints fans were disappointed that he had been sacked (until Pochettino proved to everyone what a good manager he is). Reckon Adkins is a step-up on Slutsky.

He was awful with us so I'm only basing it on that

Good to see you settling in now the wheels have fallen off mate.

No wheels have fallen off at all perfect time for a bad run, we were good last night. And we will be good till the end

This, 100%.

He just seem to over-complicate things unnecessarily and his team selections were next to baffling. We could lose 3-0 and he'd pipe up about our passing being exemplary or something equally nonsensical. I don't think it helped that he was Southampton manager before us and was obviously still a little rattled that McDermott got the better of him in that period.

Well he had a decent start. First win in 8 for Hull and first home for over 2 months.

Beating Birmingham away is a massive relief. First away win since February (against Birmingham). Hopefully it is the start of a better run of results. I doubt it though, as we are pretty terrible.

Out of the relegation zone for the first time since September which is a nice feeling. Wasn't paying attention to how far we were behind Barnsley, Hull etc.

Birmingham at home next Saturday, would be typical if we lost that one.

Pretty bad defeat for Hull City at Bolton. Out of the relegation places courtesy of goal difference. Starting to get seriously worried here.
