Wait, wait.... they brought Orton back to a big face pop.... to keep him as a heel in the Authority a night later despite them beating him senseless....o.....k

Yup :/

The only thing I can imagine is it's meant to go along the lines of Orton agreeing to join them again only to turn on them all. But it's such shit booking.

it makes the Authority REALLY dumb-looking

no-one wins with this booking. Rollins looks dumb for believing Orton. Orton loses a hell of a lot of his babyface heat by kinda-turning heel. Honestly that was one thing I thought they couldn't fuck up going into Mania. Have Orton take out the Authority figures one by one until he got to Rollins at Mania. Have him going postal and crazy. But nope they've gone this route, which just doesn't work.

CONGRATULATIONS WWE

you took what should have been an awesome angle involving Orton and Rollins, and you've absolutely fucked it up.

Orton the ass-kickin loner >>>>>>>>> Orton the corporate stooge playing mind games.

Yeah, they made him look stupid rather than conniving.

This Raw can be summed up by "I respect the hell outta this guy" and "That's America you talkin' 'bout, son."

Going to be such a boring 'Mania.

In fairness, the only promising thing heading into last WM was the Bryan/HHH feud. That promo work and then both matches he was involved in during last WM made a decent show, an excellent one. One would suspect that Ziggler/Rollins/Bryan on a PPV will be enough to make it at least decent, especially when you mix in some sort of no holds barred match between HHH/Sting - that should be excellent. HHH could be a heel magnet in the coming weeks.

At Fastlane, Ziggler got beat up by The Authority and had to be saved by Randy Orton. So on Raw, Dolph is so pissed he...wrestles Barrett.

Another poor crowd. Reigns was decent enough in his promo with Heyman.

Otherwise a bit dull.

I liked the Orton stuff, I was expecting him to just brawl with Rollins for weeks and mindnumbing matches with Show and Kane and handicaps etc is that really what you wanted? So pleasantly surprised they are not going the predictable route. Obvious mind games from Orton, people need to let the bigger picture play out, the reason we cant have long term storylines and booking as everyone is so short sighted. Rollins is sweating it out, wondering if Ortons going to flip on him while Orton avoids Authority beatdowns with his changing his mind constantly before flnally flipping and going animal on Rollins before Mania and we get the great match at Mania.

Thought it was decent, disappointing for a WM build up Raw but alright. I really enjoyed the Reigns/Heyman stuff, Cena/Rusev was okay but another fucking Cena redemption storyline. Wyatt promo was good. Tag title match was good, Natalya going full heel with Tyson I liked that. But they need to stop with the same old plot device of pinning the champion and thats why you get a shot at the title. Weve got Truth, Ambrose and Ziggler all gunning for Barrett now who continues to job left right and centre. Ambrose is cutting great promos on the app and online, really selling the belt and the story and we dont even get to see it on Raw, Ambrose just comes off as a bit dickish at the minute with no real reason or justification for why he wants the belt. Stardust/Goldust story is good but again they are not allowing promo time to build it and Stardusts great promos arent getting the airtime.

All in all, improvement needed, HHH/sting build up hopefully next week, a Lesnar appearance would be nice and more focused build on the set feuds with promo time for all, get Bryans match set up as well be it Sheamus or whatever.

It sounds like literally the worst thing in the world.

Why? HHH is the master of street fights. There is literally nobody better. Surely Sting can get himself fit and ready for a 10 minute spotfest brawl? It won't be great I don't think, but it should at least be very entertaining and watchable if not for the nostalgia then the crowd being into it. I wish Sting had turned up in 02/03. :(

Being the master of street fights is like being the master of making toast, I'm happy to give someone the title of it but I sure as fuck don't want to watch it. Has there even been a good street fight since the days of blading ended?

Not entirely sure how you think Sting is going to be part of a 'spotfest' either. A half-arsed OAP is not going to go throwing himself through announce tables.

Meh, you just like being difficult to please. It's good, you have high standards. But let the rest of us bathe in nostalgia. Oaf will agree with me. I've never seen HHH in anything less than a very good street fight, the one with Foley made him. I reckon Sting may surprise you. This could be his only performance with WWE and he won't want to rest his legacy with a sloppy nothing match.

there's a time for long term booking, and there's a time for letting the dog off it's leash. Let's put it another way. You get beat up by your supposed mates, leading to you spending 2 months in a hospital bed. You see them constantly bragging about it to anyone that will listen. When your back to 100%, do you go back to them and pretend that your ok with everything in the hope that you get a chance at redemption down the road?

hell no, you immediately come back and get revenge.

we've had the month of Orton being uneasy in the Authority. We had that in October / November. We had this awesome pay off with the Orton beat down. We've then had the awesome pay off of Orton returning as the psychotic baby face. Now we've gone back to Orton being uneasy in the Authority again? Why? We've done that already. Don't you think it makes the Authority look absolutely dumb as fuck believing this well known psycho?

it's like this Ziggler/Ryback/Rowan thing. It's the never ending story of babyfaces v authority. Problem is, the babyfaces never get any victory. Ziggler wins for TEAM CENA at Survivor Series, and is immediately forgotten about. He's now in his usual 'multi man mania match' booking rather than having a 1-on-1 stand alone match he richly deserves.

considering the time of the year, coming off of the last PPV before Mania, honestly got to say that's one of the worst Raws of the past 2-3 years. your massive end to the show to make sure you come back next week is ORTON TAPPING ROLLINS ON THE SHOULDER AND WALKING UP THE RAMP! FEEL THE EXCITEMENT

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought the Orton stuff was shit then. Probably the worst ending to a Raw that I can remember. I can't really say much more that hasn't been said... we know Orton vs Rollins is coming. Why fart around like this?

Did like Booker T's line about Bryan and Cena not having matches for WM... talking as if it was actually a possibility that WM may go ahead without them on the card :fl:

Also, I think this one episode of Raw had the one moment that I've ever wanted Paul Heyman to shut the fuck up. Pretty much lining Reigns up against all of the greats and saying he'd beat them. BASED ON WHAT?! Obviously it was all going to boil down to "you can be any man... but Lesnar isn't a man" but it just doesn't fit Reigns.

Reigns would have to be a dickhead of all dickheads to fail a drugs test just before WM. Lesnar is probably thinking 'if I've never done it, why should I, a recognised beast who just ended the streak, have to job to a little druggy pleb'. Would love it if Reigns got pulled from the main event should that be true. Can you imagine what Vince and HHH would do to Reigns career? Christ.

I remember Jack Swagger being arrested for DUI in 2013 just before his main event push with Del Rio at Mania. I think they continued with the scheduled match at Mania, but Swagger ended up jobbing out to Del Rio 2 months in a row as punishment.

I still think Reigns v Lesnar will go ahead, but either a) Lesnar will beat him, or b) Rollins will cash in on Reigns after the match

For all we know Orton could go berzerk on them next week but give me Orton/Rollins vs Bryan/Reigns over you crossed us Randy, tonight its Orton vs Big Show Kane and Rollins! Oh look Ortons beaten down again, how can Orton overcome the odds? This is a refreshing twist for me, if you think of it logically, Ortons always been about his best interest, so makes sense he might consider a return to become face of the WWE again, that or Authority beat downs every week? Hmm. That said I am looking forward to fully face Orton again, much prefer him as a face. I think The Authority will slowly dissolve at Ortons hands next few weeks, HHH will be occupied by Sting, Orton can plant discension with Show and Kane, tell the other what each has said and such, leading to those two turning on each other. This will then leave Orton and Rollins as the sole members, cue another tag match maybe Orton/Rollins vs Cena/Reigns or something and we then get Ortons revenge when Rollins has no protection anymore. I think it makes perfect sense to be honest, have Orton aligning with The Authority cause them to implode so Rollins has no back up and then Orton can get his hands on Rollins one on one and truly give him the beatdown he deserves. Just me? Or does that not sound more interesting than Orton and Rollins just fighting each other for 5 weeks.

Wouldn't it be great if we could have built up a fued over a months between Orton and Rollins/Bryan and Ziggler heading into WM. I do wonder whether we will ever see another WM of perfect match ups - in terms of career, time, how over they are etc.

I wouldn't mind a triple threat for the intercontinental title between BNB, Ziggler and Ambrose. Has the possibility to be one of the matches of the night for me.

I think you might get your wish, but with the unfortunate stink of Vince McMahon's backstage buddy 'I was relevant 4 years ago' R'Truth inserted into it.

R-Truth is always a weird one. Had most of his time in WWE as a pointless addition to the roster who was more annoying than anything... but this one short 6 month spell or whatever where he was THE VERY BEST THING in all of pro wrestling.

How they can take a persona and character that can be that much fun and then just revert the guy back to being a pointless shit character is probably one of the biggest mysteries I've ever seen with WWE.
