I think we're starting to realise that a few of our players aren't good enough to step up. Probably matched Newport first half, but then gave them a ridiculous goal in the second that killed the game.
Never seen such frustrating time wasting as what Newport did - NINE minutes of injury time despite there being no injuries.

We had no presence up front and no width, which meant the entire second half was spent kicking it long to Newport's giant defenders.

Only consolation is our closest rivals, Morecambe and Bolton, got stuffed.

Getting the shots away but not really working their keeper, we've got a lot of work to get up to speed still ahead I reckon.

Definitely still look disjoininted, our crossing is shite which isn't helping and our shots are generally laughable. Why the fuck can't someone put their foot through the fucking thing and keep it down rather then scuffing it or ballooning it into the car park.

Can't say Bradford were robbed though.

Dreadful second half from us, didn't manage a shot and gifted Newport their winner by way of a howler from Hird. Hopefully we will be a different prospect once a few key players are back as the backups aren't good enough for this level based on recent games.

Great win for us today with a good performance to match. First half was a bit of a non entity. Not sure if you could say either side shaded it but I'd probably say Oldham looked marginally more dangerous, was scrappy but they had the better openings without really working the goalkeeper or fashioning many efforts on goal.

Second half was one way traffic, we created plenty of chances, took the lead after good pressing and hustle from Newton, played a nice ball into the path of List, the defenders were drawn to the ball and he pulled it back to Osbourne who was left unmarked to guide the ball home. Fortunately we went for a second rather than sitting back, won a penalty that was missed and from the resulting corner we made it 2-0. Corner wasn't properly cleared, Luther won it back in the box and fired it beyond the keeper with the aid of a deflection. We continued to hunt for more, only chances Oldham could really fashion were from range. We got a third late on, simple goal from a corner, Prosser at the back post nodded home, just wanted it more than the defender.

Oldham definitely poor so not getting carried away, but a good win and light years ahead of the dross we served up last season. Only disappointment was the camera work, trigger happy with the zoom button.

It won’t change the face of the game now, but I’ll be amazed if Paudie O’Connor’s red isn’t rescinded; and Adam’s is therefore issued a 3 match ban for the elbow on French.

If French throws himself to the floor, as dramatic as Adams did, Adams walks - it’s as simple as that.

We were 2-1 at that stage, with both teams down to ten men, we walk away from that game with 3 points IMO.

Cheats. It’s that simple.

Superb result took our chances and limited exeter to pretty much nothing. Conlon free kick excellent strike. Exeter sent a bad side and will still do well but I think we limited them to nothing wasnt really untill the last 10 to 15 minutes that they had any decent chances. Legge joyce and conlon put in superb displays.

Also cambridge have shocked me with there start I expected them to struggle so go to say well done to them.

Thought Vale played really well. Exeter had to come back in it and they had some real sitters. Very pleased though, Rodney is equally frustrating and frightening with his strength and pace.
The sending off above at the FGR game, dear me that's embarrassing. Awful decision and if he falls that easily he needs to get in the gym

If one of my players had done that, I'd have done my nut as well. Utterly stupid, we scored from that goal kick as well I think.

the lot of them want rollocking.
Id have taken the point before the game but it feels like we’ve lost, we’ve literally just imploded and fell apart.

had we been 2-0 up with 10 to go we’d have lost 2-0, yet we pressed the self destruct button and made a clusterfuck of the last 10 minutes why?

weve Exeter next week who always win at Mansfield, excellent

Don’t think Cheltenham will get an easier 3 points away from home this season than today. Fitness and injuries maybe an issue but I would still expect better than today.

We're above barrow in the league

Well it was only a matter of time before natural order would resume.

They needn't get too down though because they might get to have their beloved Evatt back the way things are going with Bolton.

What is it with us and keepers. Gone through so many in the last few seasons, finally get McGee in who's meant to be the answer and he looks dodgy as fuck.

Speaking of dodgy Keepers. Paul Farnam again today, couldn’t catch a cold. Southend’s one effort on target, a less than powerful shot straight at him, old butter fingers spills it, luckily no Southend players were reactive enough to capitalise.

The sooner Norman is back the better, he can’t be worse than this guy. In the mean time I’d honestly throw the young boy Dewhurst in as Farnam is going to cost us bucket loads of goals.

Great save from their only chance first half then pretty much hands them two goals, first almost literally. I realise a lot of goals at this level are more about poor defending than great attacking but we seemed to give a good half of ours away festively wrapped.

Flapped at a few last week as well. Maybe he'll improve, not sure how well he did on loan at Bradford last season? Those were the only games he's had in 2 years before signing for us.

More of the same next week and I can see Thomas getting back in.

Well that was a shambolic game of football from two sides who look clueless going forward. Two howlers from McGee otherwise we go a fourth game without scoring.

Our second red was laughable but a draw probably fair.

GC is fuming with Clarke who did that, and the going in to the corner. I’m confident it’s not happening again.

You’re being kind to us there. That was the worst display I’ve ever seen from a professional outfit. Absolutely disgraceful from start to finish.

And yes, that camera work was making me queasy!

Every player that Mark Cooper has ever picked is like that. The funny thing is, his Swindon side who were the best in the division, missed out on promotion because of it.
