In regards to the reduced budget, we've essentially got the same squad as last year minus Asante, all of the players have been fantastic and taken a wage cut.

Danny Elliott couldn’t get in the team because of Asante last season, he went on loan to Alfreton for a month and blitzed a few goals. Seen a few of our friendlies recently and he’s absolutely looking the business up top to replace the goals.

We all know Jonno is good for a word but I know he’s confident but also keen for us to stay out of the limelight for a change.

We've also added 5 players one of whom Declan Weeks scored the winner at Kidderminster last night.

Exactly. We went to Wembley twice in a week. What have Darlington ever done?

Been in existence for 137 years.
Won the FA Trophy (in front of more than 1000 Fylde fans)
Won the National League (conference as it was then)
Won Division 4 (League 2)
Played in Division 3 and 2 (League 1 and Championship)

Played and beat the following teams in league action in my lifetime...Wolves, Derby County, Swansea City, Reading, Bolton Wanderers, Huddersfield Town, Burnley, Brighton and Hove Albion, Luton Town, Brentford, Wycombe, Bournemouth, Preston, Rotherham...beat the likes of Middlesbrough, Chelsea, Stoke City, Nottingham Forest in the cup...and so on.

All whilst you were playing the likes of Hanley & Longridge YMCA B Team in The Royston Veysey Invitational Clown Challenge League

It was actually Hanley and Longridge YMCA 1st team but no dramas. No harm done

Boston scored four all from set-pieces against Leamington. Not a good start for Brakes

Chambo is a great signing. Flowers on the other hand was terrible on loan with us. He threw a tantrum after being subbed when he played awfully and returned to Solihull the next day. He seems tp have done well in Ireland but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't work out
A player trading solely on his name unfortunately.

We are off against BPA tomorrow due to a positive test in their side.

Away at Gateshead tomorrow. I don’t really know what to expect anymore in this division. Just looking at the odds and trying to place a half educated bet but struggling tbh. York at 7/5 away at Farsley maybe. Curzon have signed a few decent players haven’t they? In which case 11/4 away at Brackley could be a decent bet. Spennymoor at nearly 2/1 could be a good bet. Aah I’ll leave it a few weeks until I know a bit more.

Anyone having a bet on this division tomorrow?

We're charging £8.99 and as fan owned that's been voted on as well. We're not charging the most in the league either....

Foc at Guiseley, so far anyway.

What is the justification for such a charge following the announcement that clubs are to receive compensation for lost income playing behind closed doors?

We're charging £9.99. It didn't even work properly on Tuesday and we had to switch the second half to a free live stream on YouTube.

In other news, our match at Kettering today is off due to there being COVID-19 in their camp. Apparently they are waiting for more test results to come back but they weren't back in time this morning for the match to go ahead.

My guess is we've had 450 season ticket holders who have paid for their tickets. So they get the game for "free" while fans who haven't paid pay for the ticket.

To ensure the sustainability of the club going forwards. Clubs have been starved of revenue for months on end, commercial revenue will no doubt have taken a hit at most clubs as will bar and hospitality takings and going forwards all those VAT and rates breaks that were enjoyed will come back into the equation. No one actually knows how much clubs will recieve as part of this bail out (or when it'll arrive) and to date no money has actually been recieved. Yet costs have been incurred to start the season to set up streaming services etc.

Like at Chester our fans were asked by survey what we would reasonably pay and £7.99 per game was the conclusion. As for the service its self, from first watch in our FA cup game v Prescott its better than some FL clubs manage with ifollow and well worth the money. Our volunteers have always gone above and beyond with regards to things like highlights (genuinely think we have one of the best highlights packages in the league) and they've gone above and beyond again. Didn't see one Darlo or Prescott fan that didn't think it was worth the money.

Our game v Boston now postponed due to a positive covid test for one of their players and two more tested but no results as yet.
Quick recovery to them and hope it's contained.

As you say hopefully minimal impact to them and their families and they recover quickly. Out of interest do you know what the basis for a postponement is? Read Boston's statement last night that seemed to indicate they wanted to go ahead.

Not actually seen any central guidance, so is it based on:
  • Agreement of both teams?
  • Opposition indicating a wish not to play a team with positive tests?
  • Number of players unavailable = automatic postponement?

I don't know.

If I was responsible for the welfare of a squad I wouldn't be comfortable playing a team with confirmed cases, presumably they've been in close contact with the rest of their teams players in training/recent matches.
I was surprised at the Boston statement yesterday saying the game would go ahead.

Our stream was absolutely superb again, well worth the £7.99.

On to the match, shame our team wasn't worth it. Player of the year Will Hatfeld got injured after 10 seconds which was a massive blow.

Nonetheless for the first 30 minutes or so we were on top, and went 1-0 up. Then Kiddy scored an absolute worldie from nothing to make it 1-1, and from literally that moment on they dominated the rest of the match, scoring another beauty for the 3rd. Really, no keeper would have stopped goals 1 and 3, and they won't score another 2 goals as good all season - however, credit where credit is due they ran out worthy winners.

I thought we lacked heart today once the equaliser went in, that needs to be resolved quickly and it's not something I'm used to seeing from an Alun Armstrong team.

Don't think I could've summed the game up better. You guys should've been out of sight in the first 25-30 minutes, then 1 screamer and your team went into their shells. Can't remember many of any shots you had after that.

A good win for us after Tuesday's disappointing result but decent performance. And thanks to us bottling the cup we've got a week's break.

Our stream was great, bit of an issue with audio a bit behind but that was our fault and will be put right next game.

Workmanlike performance against Leamington today but got the job done, they've been a bit of a bogey team to us in the past two seasons.

Three goals for Danny Elliott this season already. ;)
