That would be either brilliant or a total car crash! Entertaining though.

I'm saying the latter... Kind of want it to happen though, just so we can disgrace the twat at Villa Park again.

In news with us, it's either Di Matteo (no thanks), Pearson (yes please), or Moyes (meh).

Why leave and join Leeds when you can do a decent job and still get sacked? Makes no sense.

Moyes has put himself out of the running for the job. You'll go for Pearson now, whether or not he accepts is another matter.

Because he's more likely to stagnate at MK and his stock won't get any higher unless he challenges himself.

Didn't see that he'd pulled out, thought he'd look a bit more likely with the Celtic job having gone, as I said... Meh.

It's apparently a done deal as to who we're getting, meant to be announced at some time this week according to the new owner.

He's got a nice, cushy job at MK Dons and will probably be given a decent budget to get themselves back up - why would he want to work under Cellino and risk a sacking on his CV?

But at Leeds it's also very likely his value will go downwards. MK have a good chance of getting promoted next year if they sign the right players, Leeds have a very real chance of going down if things go the way they have been going. Would be stupid to go for the Leeds job IMO.

Why wouldn't you want to manage at one of country's top clubs, despite the carnage in the background, it's a shot to nothing for him, everyone knows Leeds are a mess but if he gets it right there he would be even more sought after.

I don't think your value would go down much by coming here. You do well and you've done exceptionally well. You get sacked after 3 months and you can just blame the off-the-field situation.

I agree with what you are saying Walkley, but I think he wants that security. He will leave us, sooner rather than later, but only to a club that won't sack him the moment something goes wrong. I think we've been too kind to him really, and I still think it would have been better for him to have joined Sheffield United a few seasons ago.

Leeds fans have been brilliant today. Listen to the City fans - Clarke's rubbish, it'd be hilarious, he goes to the pub and makes a fool of himself when his team does well and has a good season etc. etc. He'd no doubt tarnish the glowing reputation and success of Cellino's Leeds.

I'd keep well away, in hindsight he's been a dreadful appointment.

My 'pub' comment was very tongue in cheek GH and I don't think any of ours have said he's rubbish. Personally, I think he's done an incredible job at your place so I don't know where you're getting that from. The pub singing was funny, fair play to him.

Indeed, the reason this news is interesting/funny is because of Clarke leaving Rovers (from our POV), not Clarke joining Leeds. Would be a good appointment if given time.

Ah okay, understood now.. thought you lot were suggesting he couldn't make the step up! My comment was tongue in cheek obviously, he's been fantastic for us. Lots of Leeds fans today on t'internet saying 'who?', saying they need a bigger name and suggesting he'd be a puppet, which I'm sure you lot will know as well as me that he wouldn't take that.

FWIW I don't think he'd go under Cellino anyway, career suicide in six months given they expect play-offs next season with less financial clout than the other Championship sides (though I have no doubt he'd give it a bloody good go if given the time). I expect him to go to a big Championship side at some point, but I'm certain he'll make sure its the right move for him. Time is key for him.

To be fair I bet people thought Steve Evans wouldn't be a puppet. Not saying you're wrong, but Evans is as bad as any we've had.

Probably won't happen anyway. Sheridan was 1/6, Robinson similar. But it will be some lower league coach who won't mind toeing the line. Or foreign.

Must admit Evans bending over backwards doesn't make much sense, but 100% DC won't take any rubbish - he's been vocal about that in the past. When the new owners came in at our place he was very defiant about being in control despite being under no pressure at all. Thankfully for us I think he'll be able to see that by taking the Leeds job he'd be very restricted in that sense. DC's worst enemy if he did take the job would be time, as we've seen it may take him a few months to get going, which Cellino (and maybe the fans?) wouldn't give him.

I agree on your second point. Seems the odds have dropped purely based on him being next in line after Robinson, rather than due to any sort of concrete evidence.

Steve Macclaren approached us to talk about our job an we've fucked him off and Gary Bowyer seems to be the favourite.

Couldn't make that shit up, relegate us now. Tony what the fuck are you playing at?

Wouldn't you be better off waiting for Evans who appears to be on his way out at Leeds?

I'd have him back in a heartbeat but most of our downer fanbase believe he's shite cos he's made a couple of bad signings. Don't think he'd want to come back to our joke outfit anyway.

Don't think Bowyer is that bad, but Stewart is mental to fuck McClaren off unless he's asking for silly wages.

Where does this alleged dog fiddling thing come from?

City fans have, how should I say, creative imaginations.

ANYWAY, it seems an official approach has indeed been made. Best case DC will go along in order to flex his muscle so to speak, telling Wael he expects backing in order to keep him here. Worst case, he leaves, Cellino sacks him before the press conference.

Proper no mark like Redfearn int he, ant got a clue.

He approached us aswell, he'll no we're not loaded and he'll be getting ££ from Derby and Newcastle still. TS has lost the plot.

Like the Rovers fans saying City fans were in the Mansfield end at THAT game ;)

Some fans still support the man who may well end up being rejected by the manager of both MK Dons and Bristol Rovers in consecutive days.

Seems we've offered Clarke a new deal, rebuffed the initial approach and have set a number of pre-conditions for Cellino to meet if he wants an approach accepted. The initial article was deleted, but earlier it said one of these conditions involved a six figure compensation fee.

Of course that shouldn't be a problem for Leeds, but we'll see if Cellino genuinely wants him or whether he's the 'cheap option' and Cellino's interest dies.

We'll see. His wages would be lower than some so a smallish compensation package might not work out that expensive. If Clarke wants to go then that makes a difference (even if getting him in when his contract expires wouldn't be ideal - but then for you as well waiting to bring someone in).

I'd rather take a chance on a promising manager than a proven failure with a bigger name...even though some are ignorantly throwing this into the Hockaday category.

Thinking about it I suppose if he was willing to pay compensation for Robinson then it shouldn't make too much of a difference. Clarke is on a year rolling contract anyway (I thought it ended in June, I was wrong..) so compensation will have to be given.

Absolutely, the comparisons with Hockaday (as I'm sure you'll know) are lazy and it suggests he'll have a fight on his hands not just with Cellino but with the fans too. He's a great manager and I'm sure he'd do well if given time.

Oh bugger of Leeds. DC will eventually move onto bigger and better things but with our new ownership, I can't help this would be the wrong move for him. Clarke doesn't seem to have the contacts (yet) and wouldn't be given the time needed to succeed at Leeds.

If he wanted to go, I would understand, especially as I remember saying in the conference 'I won't leave this club until they're back in league 1' - well he's done that now, but Leeds are such a farce with managers at the moment wanting instant success, something where I feel Clarke isn't that type of manager, especially not at this level yet. I also don't believe he'd do it to his current players and would stay loyal to them. In honesty, this could potentially work out well for us with the club offering him a new deal with undoubted extra investment. As long as he stays, I can only see this being a good thing
