Think that’s the last bit of the jigsaw. Tough one to get right as if Wootton is available he plays no questions asked, but we had very little from the bench upfront last season. Sam and Knight have something to offer, I think, but not as out-and-out strikers.

Yeah, location presumably a big factor, but still an impressive bit of business. Interesting bit in the Notts Post story about it - Ben Turner is mates with him from Burton and helped persuade him to join. Suggests we’re onto a good thing with the general feeling around the club if someone we’ve released is willing to do that for us.

Striker definitely, back up goalkeeper if we want to send Brooks out on loan. Bennett I think is a possibility as he’s a similar profile to Roberts, so means we could wrap Cal in cotton wool a bit and have cover if he does break again. Possibly another central midfielder if we are planning on Doyle not playing at all, if he is going to feature a bit then we look fine there.

i think we might look at a loan striker now. As far as backup keeper, with only 5 subs and not naming a keeper on the bench they will hardly get matchfit.

i like the side we have now. couple of loans maybe but im am happy

There’s still a few rumours of Scott Boden doing the rounds which I wouldn’t be against as a backup to Kyle. Definitely thinking Bennett as a backup to Cal which would be brilliant. Maybe the last potential central midfielder could be one of the current trialists who are still with us training?

Looks a stronger squad than last year to me, a bit more youth and pace.
We need a no 9 to take some of the burden of Wootton but on paper we look to have one of the strongest squads in the league now.
A lot of change since Saturday.
