We have just had our lockdown extended bty another 15 days ,it means easter is cancelled ,its a big thing over here mainly to stop all the Madrillenas coming to their holiday homes checkpoints everywhere
The holiday homes thing is a factor over here too. Perhaps because people still haven't quite understood the scale of the problem, lots of people are thinking 'self-isolation, not a problem, I'll just head to my cottage in the Highlands / Lake District holiday home', then you end up with massive crowds in these places which usually aren't as well provided with medical care and food retail as other places. We have just had our lockdown extended bty another 15 days ,it means easter is cancelled ,its a big thing over here mainly to stop all the Madrillenas coming to their holiday homes checkpoints everywhere
The advice is so simple I don’t understand why people don’t get it.
Stay the fuck inside, for fucks sake!
where about in Spain are you?Its getting shit serious now everybody just has to take it seriously at least for others ,take care fellows
These idiots who had “one last drink” on Friday night. The idiots who‘ve taken social distancing as a excuse to go to their favourite holiday destination. The idiots who’ve rammed the supermarkets full to get their trolley of bread and cider. The idiots who still think it doesn’t apply to them cos they’re currently fit and healthy, as they potentially infect public spaces.
They’ll be the first to complain when there isn’t a ICU bed, ventilator or critical care nurse left for them or a loved one in a few weeks time.
Lockdown is coming to the UK this week purely because of them.
We need to get out to build up our immune systems, that is why we have less colds and flu in the summer than winter. The problem is that people are getting out and not segregating the 2m.
Exactly, in the war it was the Luftwaffe that was the danger, you could hear the aircraft approach and head for a shelter when the siren sounded...with this virus it is carried on the air and you can't see or hear it, isolation improves your odds of avoiding it's grasp.I know the British attitude is keep calm and carry on and has served us well in war etc but this is totally different and we need to not be so stubborn for once.
Torrevieja on the south east coastwhere about in Spain are you?
keep getting the same type of info from one of my sisters who lives over there.
Sisters in Coin near Malaga - it sounds pretty bad out there - but knowing what's happening gives me an idea of what here will be like....Torrevieja on the south east coast
Total lockdown here now. Need a code to go out for absolutely anything from walking the dog to going to the supermarket. Anyone stopped without a code gets a €150 fine. They are also mulling over banning over 65s from leaving the house at all.
And this is on an island that has had zero cases. Honestly, guys, you need to get your shit together in the UK - and soon!
Much the same with second home owners here in Cornwall, there are relatively few cases down here, and we would like to keep it that way, especially as we only have one proper hospital in the whole county. The holiday homes thing is a factor over here too. Man, I feel for anyone with any mental health instability.I’m struggling today guys.
I’m a stay at home dad (due to my mental and physical health) so I’ve now found myself home schooling a 9 year old and a 5 year old which hasn’t been that tough today so far. I’m reasonably intelligent so I can deal with what they’re needing help with.
I love my kids to death but I will admit I enjoy the few hours break I get from them during the day as it allows me to recharge and try and get things done around the house as well as allowing me to rest when I need to.
My personal life has also been a total train wreck for the last 3 months or longer.
I’m proper lost, confused and not coping so well these last few days.
Don’t want to burden any of you but I just needed a little vent.

Yeah. Been here exactly a year. My son and his family moved here and we thought, sod it, and moved over as well.
Sister in law and her hubby also moved over. It’s great out of season when the tourists aren’t around.
Strangely and spookily quiet now.
Agree totally...our teams might be Second Division, but when it comes to supporting each other let's show the World that we are Premier League! It is a shit time for a lot of people, you definitely aren’t the only one struggling Dave. Stick in there.
