Well done Carlisle on a decent replay. I'm sure they would have been delighted at that before ko today.

I'd have taken 2-2 before the match, might even have taken it at half time as I knew they'd come back strong but still being 2-0 makes it hard not to be a teensy bit disappointed.

We played well on the whole and the draw was a fair result. Even had a couple of really great chances to win it at the end which we panicked over and fluffed. They did turn on the style to get their goals but we reacted to that well, recomposed ourselves and started containing them better while looking to counter.

One person who will be happy with the result is a Cardiff fan I was speaking to in the pub before the game who wanted a replay as carlisle was one of the few grounds he needed to complete his 92.

On a rare day off for me, I decided to go to Cardiff v Carlisle, as I literally had nothing to do with no plans - which now leaves me only 5 away from the 92......sorry 91.

A draw was fair, Carlisle IMO had the better chances to win the game as well. Cardiff were awful first half, good disciplined display by Carlisle - still wondering how McKirdys header went in.

Second half Cardiff were better and were worthy of a draw.

Hallam Hope wasteful near the end on a few occasions.

Decent turnout from Carlisle. Even I’ll be home before most of them as well.

Great header! Shame it wasn't Stones he beat to the ball as that would've been perfect.

Frustrated a little, huge deflection and just couldn’t get to Half Time level but that moment was worth the hype alone when Popey headed to break the Vale post war record. Started fast. Hopefully keep it down as so far we don’t deserve a pasting.

Currently just passing the site of FGR's proposed new stadium. What was the feeling like among the Cardiff fans?
They literally weren’t bothered, which reflected in their teams first half efforts.

Not much changed in the second half, one lady behind me didn’t fancy a replay though......

Given the number who turned up for a home game on a Saturday, I wonder how many will turn up in Carlisle on a weeknight. Probably just be that guy from the pub on his own.

Not even the worst defeat of the season! Proud of that effort!

That was brilliant, we kept our shape well, and it was mental in the away end when we scored. Defeated but far from disgraced.

Thoroughly enjoyed that. City were just too good technically for us and some of their passing and movement really is a joy to watch. That said we competed and it wasn’t just an attempt to park the bus. We had a go when we could and that Pope goal brought about one of the most crazy goal celebrations I can remember in the away end.

Very memorable day. Only other thing to say I do stand by my view before the game having seen it in action - VAR can fuck right off.

When we got a goal back I started to think that we might just be able to grind out a draw as we defended pretty well, unfortunately, the City machine had other ideas. At least we weren’t totally destroyed and embarrassed!

What a great day out at a really nice stadium.

Finally home, what a day and worth all the hype. So proud of the boys and pleased for the owners as we gave that a good go and we’re in the game for an hour, and had Conlon buried his header could even have clawed back into it at 3-2.

Brown didn’t really have many saves to make and only made one or two of note aside from the goals we defended well and annoyingly of not for VAR it would have only been 3-1.

Goals were slightly annoying to concede too, first a deflection, second scrappy and the third was initial ruled out so not torn apart by great City play there although the fourth was a decent move.

To have that moment as well will live long in the memory and no one can take that away from us, one of our own fans heading the equaliser to break the Port Vale post war goal scoring record at the Etihad sending 8000 of us nuts.

When you see the beatings teams have had there I think we did very well indeed.

Also have to add how classy Man City were, Vale squad invited into their dressing room after the game and Pep and Askey had a glass of wine. Sounds like the City lads had some bants with Popey!

Didn’t appreciate at the time just how good that goal was either. Ten or so passes from our own area to score that!

Same here, the buildup play there was absolutely superb. That alone shows the improvement this team has made as rewind a year they would not have been able to do that. The Brazilian commentary certainly adds to it mind.
