ITV commentator describing Salford as one of the big names in this round of the competition and talking about it as if there should be some sort of gulf between the two teams. I think they genuinely have no idea where Salford are in the league, they just get a cheat-sheet before the match that confirms how Salford are massive and are well on course to get ito the Premiership bang on schedule.

I know massive contributions to each of our goals doesn't mean he played well the whole game, but it's a bit harsh to have that as the only thing you say about him today.
I’ve heard a few things about Rodney, and he’s having a few problems at home, can’t verify so won’t say what, but I don’t think his head is truly in the game at the min

So - Plucky non-league Salford City 0 Chesterfield 2...
I guess that seals the Barrow v Ipswich match as the TV replay game.... as there's only Boring Wood v St Albans left and there are no other replays yet....

He’s just had a baby I believe but haven’t heard anything other than that.

A typical yellow stain comment. See you've won a couple of games , usually when you string 2 wins together the 400 page thread on your forum about the mighty CFC gets revived. Sad scabs

What a pathetic post, you’ve embarrassed yourself from the off.

Oh dear.

It’s not comparable to most lower league rivalry’s to be honest, the amount of clubs at this level pretending to hate each other purely down to proximity :ffs: gotta be more to it.

Being called ‘Mansfailed’ by a fan supporting a non-league club that gets excited over signing Gloucestershire finest is silly though.

think someone’s had their first half a shandy and got overly excited.

Won’t be old enough to remember the last time chesterfield beat mansfield at home

Before they got their second we should have been atleast 4-1 up. Great moment with fans and management after game, fans have been so good this season.

To be honest the fans have been amazing, the bond between the club and the fans is brilliant, doncaster is the closest we’ve got to a rival this season (the main 2 being non league of course) so the 3,300 following isn’t a surprise. what was a surprise was the noise, absolutely amazing, didn’t stop all game, even the doncaster fans were commenting that we were the best they’ve had there for ages.

Hopefully a decent draw tomorrow.

the Mansfield v Chesterfield rivalry has to be one of my favourite tinpot rivalries. Far more entertaining than Wrexham v Chester, I'd say it's up there with Grimsby v Scunthorpe and Borehamwood v Football
Sorry but none of those even come close to the Barnet - Wealdstone rivalry that is constantly kicking off in the non league section. :box:

In fairness there hasn’t really been anything between mansfield and chesterfield on here for a while, as in the last decade we’ve been in the same league 2 seasons i think, first half of the last decade they were a league above and latter half we’ve been a league above.

It’s only since this 15 year old got all rampant, you can always tell the education/mental age when the scab comment comes out  :dk:

Or Barshit vs Wealdshit, as those posters hilariously label each other.

That’s the beauty of the conference when you come up against these sides/places you’ve never heard of like wealdstone and have no clue where they are.

Though through the process of deduction if they have a rivalry with barnet i assume it’s close to barnet and i do know where that is

Ah, but Barnet don’t play in Barnet and Wealdstone got forced off their ground some years ago which happens to be the place where the Hive is situated.

Now a three-sided Barnet/Wealdstone/Dagenham rivalry.
Anyway, glad to see Salford dumped out of the cup.

Exeter fans what happened with your “equaliser” at the end. I understand it was given and then not ungiven?

Did you mean their 'winner' which was disallowed and then given?
Offside player standing straight in front of the keeper missed the ball by an inch, falls to another player who heads it in.
Ref gets surrounded by Cambridge players and then overturns the decision.
That one?

Do you measure your todger in those "inches" ???

He was in an off side position and leaped as high as he could to try and head the ball - so it was an interesting twist on interpretation for that useless ref to decide he wasn't active and "interfering with an opponent" and the goalie would have missed it even if he wasn't there and threatening to score.

I'd have been peeved if it had been given against us but not half as peeved as if I had to trek down to SJP for yet another Tuesday night replay.

I think the ref didn't fancy the long trek either, hence the decision.

Shame, it probably would have been on the telly.

Cheers. For us the Lino and ref both indicated a goal, our players had done a tour of Plymouth, I’d drunk all my scolding hot bovril, the announcer stated who scored and then amazingly the result was overturned. In our instance it was the Lino getting surrounded.
