Knibbsy's winning goal should've been disallowed and that's my honest opinion. He was not in an offside position but apparently Smith was and he did attempt to head the ball and hence the offside flag. Obviously I'm not complaining but I don't think that referees should ever overrule the linos except in very rare cases. Because what's a lino there for after all?

Edit - btw, it's true that Exeter tried to make 6 subs

The big prize in our (presumably) televised replay against Ipswich will be an away tie against... Barnsley.

In the let's see what you could have won draw today, we would have gotten...

Liverpool away

fuck.

I mean it's fair that we were never expected to get past Shrewsbury in the 2nd round, but we could have done had we been a little less crap.

Could have been 1 ball away from being man utd or 2 balls away from city and getting the plumb tie of middlesborough?

That’s a fucking dire draw for us. They’ll beat us and we won’t even make any money as they won’t bring any fans and it’s not exactly going to get many through the gate for us either.

Port Vale vs. Brentford
Hartlepool vs. Blackpool
Mansfield vs. Boro

Wasn’t the best of draws.

Most of the big teams at home.

Likely be moved as well because they won’t want Stoke at home and a premier league side at our place at the same time.

Same attraction as Swindon or Bristol Rovers would have been but less winnable. Let’s be honest until the last 5-6 years Brentford were a similar size to us lot down here.

Can’t see that it would be moved to be honest or at least need to be. Stoke v Orient won’t have more than 6-7000 at that and our game won’t be much different. Staffs plod have been more likely let us both play at the same time in the last couple of years. Only circumstance would be if they needed move it for that Sunday magazine show.

Oh yeah all the best to Orient in their tie.

Probably a good day out for those that go but I imagine the beer will the most interesting thing about that trip, should we win the replay. Otherwise, not so much interest on it:

- The replay won't attract much interest from floaters as it isn't a decent draw, apart from that it's on TV, purely due to the fact there's no other replays to choose from
- Won't be a big gate at Barnsley so not a lot earned from ticket sales
- No chance of any TV money in the 3rd Round
- Very slim chance of progressing.

Meh all over really, not a lot to entice me to have a day off for that game.

Might manage a double header if it's a different day to our trip to St James Park.

I don't think the number Shrewsbury got was necessarily the number you'd have got?

Port Vale v Brentford is one of the few ties featuring a PL side that has to travel away from home to a lower league side, I reckon it might be on tv.

As for us, our first visit to Stoke for something like 28 years and first visit to the BET365 ground, not a new one for me as I went there 5 years ago and watched stoke play Burnley.

Trains from London-Stoke will be a bit busy if both ties are played on the same day.............

A winnable tie for Orient as well as I can see Stoke playing a weaker time

Really?
I don’t think it’s that bad.
Imagine Cardiff/Luton/hull Bristol city away.
We got a prem team at home.
I’m pretty happy with it.

It’s still… Brentford, regular opponent in recent times, modest away following and low attraction for home fans. Likely one of us or Stoke has to move because the away sides are both London based, if it gets on TV it would be even worse possibly as that would impact an average attendance even more.

Lucky to get 5500 for it id have thought. It’s one of “those” Premier League teams you just don’t want like Watford or Palace.

Home tie is the only positive but feel for Carol there, deserved to host a huge game and this one isn’t that.

before middlesborough today where we were 1 number off man utd we got cheltenham who got man city away in the next round and prior to that who got cardiff who knocked us out who got man city in the next round.

It’s never ending good luck here.
