We are, we need a striker as Robins is adamant he wants to play Madden on the wing so anybody will do as this point.

James Wallace has gone on loan from Sheffield United to Shrewsbury Town for the rest of the season.

While I'm not surprised, it's still a bit of a disappointment to me as Wallace is clearly a very good player from the times he played for us. But sadly, he is almost always injured, and it seemingly it takes him forever to recover from even minor injuries. I think in that case Adkins has run out of patience with him, as he seems incapable of playing more than 10 games a season.

What will probably happen then is that he'll be fine from here on in and play every game to help drive Shrews away from the bottom half. You never know.

Happy with James Wallace, but I hope this goes better than his first loan spell with Town when he was sent off on his debut.

One also out at Town today as young midfielder Darren McKnight, who joined from Barnsley in the summer, has left the club without making it into the first team.

I've read Rotherham, MKDons and Forest but wouldn't surprise me if others were interested. Just mentioning it because normally Adkins would poo-poo any talk of potential signings but hasn't denied this one (just said 'who knows?' when asked) so he clearly thinks it's possible.
