17 out of contract at Shrewsbury and I can't imagine we will want to keep too many of them! I would like to keep Leutwiler and Knight-Percival but not too bothered about the remainder!

Not sure he'll be L1 standard. Obviously half decent in front of goal but as Son of Cod says in the non-league bit, 21 of his 23 goals were before Xmas.

Before the turn of the year, not Christmas. I think he scored on the 28th December. [/pedant mode]

I was surprised at that, though. I knew he dropped off, because Amond ended up overtaking him in the top scorer table and he hardly ever seemed to be scoring but I didn't realise it was such a dramatic change around until I Soccerbased his stats. Quite whether or not he wasn't playing well, I'm not sure though. Always looked a thread whenever I watched Macc highlights/goals.

Can't see us being able to compete with Barnsley or the Franchise for him.

He might want to stay down south which could rule out Barnsley. We were interested in him last year, would be a great acquisition.

What's he like? Apart from having a horrific barnet all I know is he was on loan at Macc I believe.
Dennis is certainly worth a go in the FL. He's a great finisher, especially when running at goal or on the turn when he usually hits the target. He's not bad at headers either, despite the hair. He knew he'd done enough for a move out of non league by Christmas so that could explain the drop off in form recently. There was a spell where he scored in every game from early November through to the new year and he often gets important goals against the big teams we've played (Portsmouth, Tranmere, Grimsby etc.)

Apparently this was a deal done a while ago. Brief clips I've seen of his goals suggests he's a finisher (as I guess they would!) and given his age he'll know he needs to hit the ground running as and when he gets his chance. What formation has he scored his goal in? He seems the type who's going to be at his most effective as part of a traditional front two.

Traditional formations have never been our style under Askey. His goals came mainly in the first half of the season in a 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 formation when we had either two quick wingers either side of him or our big centre forward moved out wide to accommodate him. Of course at Macc's level the service isn't great and Danny Whitaker isn't getting any younger so he has had to create a fair few of his goals by himself.

Hope he moves soon so we don't have to be linked with him every window.

Goalkeeper Chris Maxwell is leaving us out of contract. Preston bound by all accounts.

Good enough for the league above?

Seen him 3 or 4 times vs. City and I've always thought he was useless. Never been impressed.

Obviously only a handful of games though.

I don't think he's good enough for League 1 and may be in as cheap back up at Preston.

Poor with his kicking and doesn't command his penalty area, weak on crosses.

He can save a pen though, quite a few rate him at Fleetwood but I don't think its a tough task for us to replace him personally.

Aye, that's the hope.

Supposedly back in for Sam Johnstone from United, or Angus Gunn from City as our Number 1.

Maxwell can't be any worse than Chris Kirkland as back up, at least he can move across his line without looking like his spine is going to snap.

Swindon sign John Goddard from us. He's class. Whether he can make the step up to League One, who knows, but it's worth a gamble signing him.
