Typical Moneybags Swindon, throwing the cash around.
How are we meant to compete.

I know Mowbray wants to do all his summer business before he goes on his hols so early July the squad is in place and ready to fail again next season.
Be pleased though with Jack Payne, but we really do need about ten others as well to join him

We're tracking Brad Inman apparently.

Probably be a club willing to take a punt on him that can offer him bigger wages than us. Although chance to progress/play good football and stay local are on the table with us. Would imagine someone like Millwall etc may take a punt if they stay down though.

Not a rumour, but I wouldn't mind us taking a look at Plymouth's Graham Carey.

Any of you fancy Jordi Hiwula?

Available for transfer..

Hope he ends up with us, definite potential there and I can imagine him scoring 15 odd if he played upfront with a partner each week, something he doesn't currently have in our setup.

Fat chance i'm afraid.

Wages will be too big for us coupled with them probably wanting a fee for the million they spent on him in the summer.

I suspect nobody will be taking a £1m punt on him, I don't think people would be willing to put up £250k for him to be honest. With the expected sales of our players this summer, we may actually be willing to pay for him, but wages as you mention would be a stumbling block.

I'd take him and Inman though, 100%. Our squad is going to get dismantled this summer.

I'm fully expectant of potentially doing a Swindon..play-off season..poor ending..players sold/squad falls apart.. replace with youth/cheap gems and struggle until Christmas. If Whitney gets the job, I'm willing to call mid-September for the first calls of 'Whitney out' on UTS.

Bradshaw + Henry to be sold, Sawyers to move to the Championship. Demetriou moving back to London. Will Mantom get the wages he will think his goal return deserves? Especially when he's not playing for us and when he is, he's turd. Forde? Not arsed about him anyway. Smith said last season that we couldn't afford to keep hold of Milan for more than 1 season and his goal return has been decent. Osbourne is already out the door, Hiwula returning to Huddersfield.

All of a sudden the days of having a 'thin spine' and needing 7 or 8 signings in the summer are feeling real again.

The key thing for next season for me is that the supporters have to limit our expectations. We won't be fighting for automatic or even play offs again, it just isn't pheasible unless Jeff gives us a much bigger budget (lol), we have to rebuild once again, like we did a few seasons ago under Smith.

I rate Forde so i'll want him around. Always puts a shift in, still young so he can improve and he will be relatively cheap(ish). Mantom I think deserves another year, sure he has been turd in the last 5 months, but he is still good enough for a mid table battle and I doubt we will get much better. Lalkovic I like even though he frustrates me, again he will be a fine mid table league 1 winger.

For me, we have to build next season around youth. I would love to see us bring in more youngsters released from local clubs and also make players like Morris a key player to build a team around. I want us to be young, pacey and direct. O'Connor and Preston as a centre half pairing would be fantastic for me. Youth, power and pace coupled with experience and knowledge.

On Hiwula, I imagine that maybe we could get him if we spend a little bit of cash from the sales of Bradshaw and Rico Henry on a 1 year deal, similar to how we dealt with Lalkovic this season. Even then, I expect him to go a big spender in this division.

I can't see us paying Hiwula the wages he is on, our only chance is to get him on a long-term loan, with Huddersfield paying some of his wages.
I think Mantom will stay, I'd like Forde to stay too, think he's been very good over the last few months.

I agree that Sawyers, Demetriou and Bradshaw will go, at least we'll get some cash for Bradshaw. I can (optimistically) see Rico staying for another season.

Cook and Andy Taylor will probably get released, I'm not fussed about Lalkovic, not enough end product for me. I suspect we might get a surprise & Osbourne will get another year - he'll be cheap after all and Whitney has named him as a sub for the last two games.
So that's at least six players that'll need replacing.
I'd love us to sign Inman, think he'd suit our style of play

I think we'll be back to mid/lower table mediocrity next season, with calls for Whitney's sacking all over UTS and twitter before the end of August..

Swindon sign John Goddard from us. He's class. Whether he can make the step up to League One, who knows, but it's worth a gamble signing him.

At least he knows how to score against the Scum :)

Yes, Andy goes to Barnsley with our best wishes and appreciation. His level of application did not drop off after he rejected a new contract with us, indeed he seemed to work even harder than ever. I'm sure he'll be a success with Barnsley.

From what (admittedly little) I have seen of Rico Henry, I'm not sure that anyone higher up would want to take a punt yet.
Clearly he's a prospect, but he seems to be a much better player going forwards than defensively and that will only become more of an issue as he moves up the leagues. Bradshaw will definitely attract interest though, especially if he's out of contract?

Thanks! Reckon he could pull it off in the Championship?
I have my doubts. His end product isn't consistent enough in League 1 let alone the Championship. However another part of me thinks surrounded by Championship quality players he could get more assists.

Plenty of doubts, but I do hope he proves me wrong and does the business in the championship.

Henry was torn a new one by Isgrove at the weekend.

Agreed, but he's only 18 and the defending isn't the part of his game that made him so oustanding. He's in his first pro season, he will get his arse handed to him a few times I'd suspect. Virtually every other part of his game is superb though. Someone will be willing to part with a big fee for him, given his age, potential, currenty ability and now reputation.

I can't get into Sawyers, he frustrates me too much for someone with such massive talent. I've never seen a better player technically, that can be so good and literally destroy teams with 1 or 2 touches. Unfortunately, his form dips in and out, when he's of, he's a total passenger, when he's on, he can olbiterate teams.

Bradshaw has another year on his deal, so we should get a decent fee for him and hopefully as a 'parting gift' he would sign another year long contract to help us get a bigger fee for him.

We're apparently after a premier league left wing-back as Mowbray looks to move to a 3-5-2 formation.
