Beckford turned down a better basic wage at Wigan (11k-a-week, supposedly) to come here.

Fuck off Wigan.

I think he would love it and our fans certainly would.
The only problem is that Posh would, understandably, want to recoup some of the fee they paid us.
We don't really pay fees.

Someone will still have to pay a decent wedge in compensation I would have thought after his performances this season.

Rumours that Peterborough are back in for Mark Cullen are growing. Hope they are true to be honest.

Kayode Odejayi and Kevin Ellison.

For fucks sake. I didn't realise we were building a mid-table Conference side.

Hopefully we're in for him.

I'd imagine a top L1 side would be in for him or even a bottom half Championship side. Brentford only offerring a 1 year deal is a pisstake IMO everytime I saw him last year he was a class above the rest.

Sounds like we're signing a player right now, no idea who he is though.

Scott Laird becomes our sixth signing of the summer.

We're basically Preston North End.

Top guy Laird, disappointed he has gone but replacing the full backs seems to be one of Grayson's priorities.

Still, he'll be one of the best left backs at this level.

Very good signing for you, the best out of the three you've signed from us.

We're rumoured to be interested in Joel Grant. Sigh.

Scunthorpe have got two good attacking full backs, not as good defensively but still the best two fullbacks we had.

I reckon he'd come to us with first team football being offered. That's how we got John Egan, and you know yourselves how good he is. Can't see Mawson being the same level but he's an exciting prospect for sure.

Brentford offered him two years according to news outlets today:
http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...r-alfie-mawson-turns-down-new-deal-at-brentf/
http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/brentford-set-to-lose-defender-after-he-turns-down-new-deal/

Sounds like he just wants first team football somewhere rather than another loan which is fair enough. He'll have no shortage of offers.

Isn't that where Peter Taylor went?

We're in for Mawson apparently. Think we'll get him if it's serious.

Would be good signing and one that would seem to fit the mould of younger player that Harris is trying to recruit.
Rather he came to us though.

Was he still at Wolves when Saunders was involved there?

If so - makes total sense.
Yes he was. Both left at the end of that season.
I think this is a great signing for both parties. SEB was knocked back by his final season in the PL when he just was out of his depth, and then his injuries.
I know people question his fitness but he's still only 29 and even if used for part of the game, I reckon he'll be lethal against L1 opposition. He's still very fondly remembered at Wolves and many reckon he could have done a lot of good for us the season after he left. If we play Chesterfield in the cup this season, he would get a standing ovation at Molineux.

Why is Andy Williams on a big wage? His career stats hardly look impressive - the opposite, in fact.
