I'm still trying to work out the mindset of Sunderland fans.
1615 to Vale in the FA Cup ( admittedly on the telly ) , 1569 to Morecambe for a night game in the Tinpot trophy !!

Can't be the new ground factor as we haven't played them in 20 years .
Most odd support and no logic to it.

Saying that even if they brought 15'000 fans to Vale the Chairman would pocket the lot as per usual.

Wow , awful from us yet again.
To think 12/13 we had best away support even beating Bradford

Apathy reigns supreme

Having been in a similar situation in years past, I know what it's like - 459 isn't a great number for a club like Vale on a 100 mile or so round trip.

Macc were only 200 behind Vale on a 250 mile round trip

In a mostly southern league as well and without the Crewe game to help the total.

Poor from us, no excuse we’d been on good form but obviously fans after three or four awful years on the road in the main have given up.

The Adams days 2009-2014 we’d have taken easily 1500 to Mansfield

We were indeed saying what a shit following it was - again as mentioned in the match thread between us those that went were class, really like the vale lot.

To put it into perspective we took 537 to port vale last season on a Tuesday

Take well into four futures to Notts and Chesterfield generally so unsure why it was so poor (although nine or ten wins away in three years possibly has had an effect).

That said I live what forty minutes away from Mansfield and couldn’t be arsed. Worst season in our history last year and will take a while to see the full recovery potentially. We are a hard watch away from home and generally set up wrong and negatively and end up getting comfortably beaten regardless of the opposition.

Yeah abysmal effort by Vale in numbers and noise, looked like a fed up fanbase.

Away from home we are fed up! When we beat Crewe in September I ended a run of 3 and a half years of not seeing us win away! (About 12-14 games)

Guy on twitter tonight, something like 24 games without a win away, no goals in the last 18! Bloody nuts, 95% of the time the performances like today are limp and fans have given up parting with hard earned cash to experience it, I used to do 12-15 a season... I do 1 or 2 now (usually Crewe and Notts)

It’s literally boring. The away days even when just winning an average amount on the road we’re good, 2000 to places like Burton, Bury, Macc, 1500 to Chesterfield etc regularly, Super Vale Away blazing out the stands...

I miss those Micky Adams days! We’d have a go at least.

Chesterfield always supposedly had "thousands" in our home ends before they went shit
I’ve done it twice and it definitely wasn’t thousands. First time we won 3-1 and was quite a few and the second time was the JPT game but there wasn’t many that time that I saw, though I was behind the goal instead of in the main stand. Wasn’t particularly enjoyable.

I’d guess mid 200 for Carlisle. Probably what we’ll get next home game.

459 is also 11 per cent of our home support watching us away despite being garbage and only winning twice away this calender year.

It's points that make prizes, not attendances.

A fine example being Accrington last season.

How's the points coming along?

Stay on topic please ;)

Plus there are far more examples of the polar opposite to Accrington. They are a (positive) anomaly, which the football world should be delighted to see but still very much against the grain. A bit like Notts this season to date lol.

Fourth home game in a trot that was, slightly below expectations home and away.
