We're down to 10 men. These last 10 minutes are going to be agony.

wow tonight has been such a strange evening.

a night where if you do not win your almost relegated, but an actual win will do jack sh*t due to other results.

but what a huge injury time this is for Cheltenham, Carlisle, Tranmere, Hartlepool and York

York MUST score to get something or that will hit their morale hard.

Tell me about it. Doesn't even feel like a win because of other results. But then you have to think if we'd lost this we'd have been in big trouble.

They won't. People always look at the gap and panic because it doesn't look as unattainable as previously. However, people tend to forget that aside from catching the teams above, they need to overtake them and stay there. There's a reason Hartlepool have 30 points, they're not very good. I saw them play the other week and they are still not very good. Moore has done fantastic to have them as close as he does but they've still dropped far too many points under him.

If they are to have any chance however, they will need at least 6 points from their next 3 winnable games. Although at present you don't see it, yourself, Tranmere and co will win surprise points here and there now we're in the final 10 games.

There's your out of the blue win Tranmere and Carlisle.

Fair play to Hartlepool. I still think it'll be too much for them but credit where it's due, they're fighting.

Edit: Tranmere game isn't over (don't curse them, don't curse them)

On another note, Cambridge are really struggling and their run in looks like a massive banana skin to me. Games largely against those with stuff to play for. Tempted to stick a few quid on them.

it is possible, them or accrington seem to have collapsed at present.

Nah we're only terrible at home especially on Tuesday nights. Said before the game we weren't going to win and we didn't.

Cambridge have Hartlepool away coming up as well. Could be 2 CUFC's being relegated.

Unbelievable that, what a weird night at the bottom of the table. Wasn't a case of winning to pull away from the pack, more a case of if you lose you'll lose quite a lot of ground. Gap between the regular relegation candidates and the likes of Cambridge is closing now as well which is nice. Got to follow this up with a win on Saturday though, especially as Morecambe have little to play for and just lost 4-1 at home, albeit to Shrewsbury. Alongside many other fans I slated Curle when I saw the team selection; I guess that's why he's on the sideline and i'm sat at home listening... well done that man.

To be honest I've changed my mind about Hartlepool, they're only four points from safety now and that's a massive boost for them, though they had shown signs of maybe getting back in the fight nobody (except HG) expected them to get this close this early in the run in. The thing is the teams in freefall seem to change every week, so its hard to say who exactly Hartlepool will catch, and if I had to bet my house on someone going down it would still be them but it's far from certain now.

It's come to the point where I think you'll still think we're going down even when we're mathematically safe :D

Bloody hell, getting tight at the bottom of League 2, look at Hartlepool now! Were 8/9 points adrift not long ago

A little bit like last year in many ways, looking more and more likely that one of the teams slipping down the table (York, Cambridge, Oxford) will get involved sooner or later. Difference this year is that Hartlepool's timing is a bit better than Torquay's was, so two could slip in!

Cheltenham and Oxford would be nice from a geographical point of view, although I don't think I'd 'wish' relegation from here on anyone as such.

York look the weakest side down there on tonight's evidence - were never going to score, Bury didn't have to get out of second gear.

Could feel an air of inevitability from their fans at full-time, Wilcox' stock isn't high there currently.

Said when Ronnie went in Hartlepool would stay up, now I'm convinced of it. As for the rest of us - anyone got any heartburn tablets. Massive win, but our next game is Burton!

They'll be more pressure on Hartlepool to get results now against lesser teams at home. Could backfire.

Well they've got us at home Saturday.

Poor as we were against you lot - who were miles better from start to finish - we've won tonight and dragged ourselves upto 45. We are "nearly" safe.

I can see hartlepool doing U.S. over Saturday. I think given that they've had 2 away wins, if they don't beat us (who are not great away) it might actually break them

From the Cambridge forum:
"After the final whistle I shouted to Money 'That's embarrassing!' - He beckoned me forward and said to me - 'That's the last time you'll ever see me at this football club' "

Not sure if it's true but that would be disastrous for Cambridge if he did walk. Far from his biggest fan but he's a decent manager, and I know what Alan Neilson is like as a caretaker boss...
