We seem to be close to signing Callum McManaman which would be one hell of a signing. He fits in the pacy winger/forward category for sure!
Crikey, where's he been hiding in the last two or three years?!

He’s been down in Australia playing in the A League for Melbourne Victory and think he was with Luton before that but could be wrong.

He’d be a bit of a coup if we did manage to get him but I won’t hold my breath!

Our chairman has done a video today we are after 2 defenders and 2 strikers no more midfielders needed.

I’ve been told we will sign Harry Smith from Northampton.

Mixed feeling on this. Seems to have his uses as a targetman, always thought he was hard to play against. But he’s not as good in the air as he should be!

We aren't the same pushovers as we have been in the past in the transfer window and a few clubs wanted Sam. It wouldn't have made sense to not look for a fee in that scenario.
Fair enough if a few clubs wanted him. I wouldn't describe you as pushovers, we haven't done well with players and managers going to you in the past and not seeing much in return....

We had him on loan. OK - no better than that.

We have had a loan move turned down from Posh for Ryan Broom, they want him off the books permanently which I in no way assume we can afford with either the transfer or wages.

We are pleased so far mate seem to be targeting players rather than Clarke's scattergun approach of signing a load of shite barring one or two.

Maybe it’s because he has David Flitcroft to report to but I’m just not seeing that approach from DC so far with us. We seem to be quite well balanced in terms of additions to the squad which has been a refreshing change compared to beforehand.

Walsall seem to have improved on the face of it though compared to how you finished the season at least.

Apparently our interest in him cooled when he wanted to be paid the same wage as Vaughan. What’s the O’s playing budget like, not in the Salford league I guess, but one of the higher in L2?

We've been placed under a transfer embargo along with a few other clubs, reasons aren't clear why.

It's not a full embargo though, we just can't spend money on players which there wasn't a chance in hell of us doing anyway.

Extremely competitive. Would be shocked if we didn’t have one of the five biggest budgets. All the noises coming from the boardroom are ones of expectation. Jackett has been given the tools to succeed like he wanted so now we’ve got to go and do the business.

Should it be a campaign that ends in promotion it’ll finally wash away the stains of the Mad Frank era. So much lost time due to one absolute maniac.

Zak Mills has managed to find himself a club in the EFL!

Oddly one of his many stinkers came against them!

Yeah he is really poor. One of them that's alright backup as long as he never actually has to play...and you could pay me a wage to not play right back if you want.

We’re one of the others, it also means you can’t pay loan fees (which is fairly usual practice), or have any loans longer than 6 months.

I’m unsure at the moment if you’re allowed to contribute towards the loan players wages.

Good signing for Stevenage. only left us because he's from Hastings and still lives down there - and his Mrs has recently had their 1st child. Good player....
Only bad thing is our 1st game is Stevenage away....

I felt like Barry didn't get a proper run in the team at right-back last season, but the season before he was easily the best full-back in non-league.
He played too often in midfield last season and nobody really knew where he was supposed to be playing - just seemed completely lost.

Yeah you don’t want to be commuting from Hastings to Barrow for training every day.
Just the 732 mile round trip.

We only just filed our accounts in time just about avoiding a transfer embargo apparently.
