I don't think Flint is the headline stealing signing he would've been a couple of years ago, but that being said, I would've picked him over Ash Taylor 100% of the time given the chance.

The defence badly let us down last season especially first half of the season, however the midfield and forward options were and still are very strong for this level.

The defence is in a much better place now, but given how competitive this league will be it’s hard to say.

Remains to be seen. Fancies himself as a CM and has an assist in him, but he doesn't impact games enough, never stands out. We wanted him to play LB, where for me he's better suited, but he doesn't want to play there at all. So all depends on where Flynn wants to use him.

I really liked Lavinier. I suspect his best position might be RWB but we've got Hutton there who is an assist machine. He's tricky and pacy and has a good shot on him. If you can find a position for him I reckon he'll be an asset. His stunner at Northampton last season lives long in the memory. I wish him well.

Good attributes are he's pretty durable, got excellent technical ability, can put in a decent cross ball every now and again.

Bad, does he want it enough? As I said, don't think I can remember any games last season where I thought he was the best player. Didn't impact games enough, was underwhelming a lot of the time. Maybe a move south and a different coach will get him more motivated.

But unless Flynn has got him to buy in as being a LWB, you might not see the best out him out wide as he hated playing at LB for us last season, so the rumours go. As I said, I question whether he wants it enough. Good player technically, but mentally? Not sure.

He's got ability and seems like a nice kid but he didn't quite do it often enough. His best position is probably a wide midfield role which clubs don't really play anymore - he's tidy and got a great cross but probably not quick enough to play as a proper winger and not good enough defensively to play left-back. He'd probably be fine as a wing back. He likes to play in centre mid but I've never really seen him impact games enough in midfield.
