As for the other ex-Orient boys, Campbell-Ryce will do a job at this level still. Loves running down blind alleys and losing the ball and his crossing is shite, but he's astute enough to time his runs into the back post well and will get a few goals as a result.

And Paul Jones to Norwich is absolutely baffling. He's essentially a less good Glenn Morris. And Morris is a shite Conference keeper.

Do you like anyone?

We've signed Max Crocombe, a keeper who Oxford have let join us on a free. Seems to be relatively well thought of there with plenty of fans saying he wasn't really given a chance. Only 22 as well so another one of Curle's 'projects'.

He'll be a good keeper at this level. We had him on loan from Oxford Utd early last season and he did a decent enough job. He also shone against us when on loan to Nuneaton Borough towards the end of 14/15.

We've re-signed Tahvon Campbell on loan from West Brom, and midfielder Matt Butcher has joined on loan from Bournemouth.

Centre back Bevis Mugabi has signed on a one year contract after being released from Southampton.

Will be very interested to know where you end up playing Butcher. I've seen him used all across the back 4 as well as central midfield. I have no idea which is his best position. Always done a job though, sure he'll do well enough at this level, and regular football in one position would do him the world of good.

Losing Simpson would be a huge hammer blow, I don't often shed too many tears when players move on unless they've given years of good service, they're either shit or too good for us and better themselves.

But he is by far the best all round striker in this league and irreplaceable to a club like us, so I'd be gutted to see him go.

I'd heard ramblings that he's wanted out all summer, the owner Mr Becchetti hinted at a group of us at a fans forum last week that offers had come in for him and he'd rejected them all - He would only sell for silly money.

I was always under the impression he'd leave for nothing next summer regardless of what we do this season, but it would appear he has probably forced through a move. He won't play tomorrow as he apparently has this virus half our squad have got.

We couldn't replace him with a better all round player, but my main two targets I'd like as a potential replacement from League Two, would be Billy Kee and John Akinde.

Southend close to signing a prolific League 2 striker who played in the Premier League.

Fuck.

Thanks for the memories.

Big John recently signed a new contract so 7-digits would be lovely, thanks

Somehow, l don't think Orient can count that high. Hardly a move to a bigger tean is it nowadays?

Heh.

I would rather Kee than Akinde tbh. Kee for Accrington last season was fantastic, not just his goal return but his creation of goals and chances, spatial awareness, movement, link up play.

Infact if we let Simpson go Kee is probably the only forward in the league that would make me think oh well.

Rumours circulating now that the club want to offload striker Paul McCallum as well, due to a poor attitude and a training ground bust up - It will most likely be a loan. He didn't feature in yesterdays squad and we don't know why.

So we now need a striker and possibly two centre backs, as Tom Parkes dislocated his shoulder yesterday.

Danny Pappoe signs for Crawley on non contract terms.

Ex Chelsea youth team captain, Brighton development squad. Ghanaian under 20, had loans at Colchester (anyone remember him?) and Kingstonian. Spent last season at Hemel Hempstead in national league south.

A giant central defender. 22 years old. Odd really because we have four central defenders so I cannot see him getting any game time except for senior cup games etc.

we've signed linganzi and O'brien on rolling month contracts. linganzi looks like he could be a fairly useful squad player. O'brien was our ex acadamy keeper that we released a few years back so will be cover for forde.

Re the Pappoe signing for Crawley.

I did say I can't see him getting much game time but with two defenders sent off in two games maybe there will be more opportunities than I first envisaged!

The update on the Jay Simpson situation is a strange one - He was at our game with Fulham yesterday and telling fans he was basically being forced out.

He is on a very very high wage (Estimated at £5k per week) - IMO the highest in the division and clubs right now won't/aren't going to match it - Which is why I'll be suprised if he goes anywhere.

I've heard in order to comply with the FFP, we have to make cuts and our crazy owner is trying to do this by selling our best player.......

Looks like another Jobi McAnuff situation like last season - Where we had him in our squad but we couldn't afford to play him......

And rumours circulating Dean Cox has been told to find a new club. Why did I expect this season to be calm?
I think this is nonsense myself, I think people are jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly, the people who started this rumour have been conned a bit I think..........
