Alex Davey joins Crawley on 6 month loan from Chelsea. Seems very promising.

Blackpool and Bristol Rovers have joined Leyton Orient in the pursuit of Michael Raynes.

He's had a decent start to the season for us, but if we get offered money for him I'd hope we'll accept.

I'm not sure, he's been solid and improved from when he first joined, he won countless defensive headers against Port Vale. I think I'd prefer to keep him instead of him joining a divisional rival.

I agree he's improved, and he is great in the air. I wouldn't let him go for nothing that's for sure, but if someone offers decent cash we should accept. We already have defenders as good if not better, and if need be we could use the cash to bring in another better quality centre back.

A wad of cash isn't going to do so well in the centre of defence, and I wouldn't be so confident that we can simply go out there and sign a better centre back, if we could then why aren't Bristol Rovers et al. chasing that centre back? I'd say keep hold.

By no means is Raynes a League 1 standard defender, surprised Rovers would be looking at him. He'd be a good signing for a fellow League 2 team looking for a someone dependable, but from our perspective it's getting a bit late in the transfer window and he's played a big part in the first 2 games so I'd keep him unless there's a ridiculous offer.

Also, I don't see why he'd want to leave unless there's a really good financial offer for him too. We've got a good team, he's playing matches and seemingly enjoying being here, and he's just had his kid. It'd be strange on both ours and his part if he left, and again I think it would only happen if the money really was too good for either party to reject.

Steve Davis has met with two central midfielders who are free agents after being released from League One clubs last year.

One is apparently James Wesolowski which would mean a further crocked CM on our books despite him being more than good enough for this level when fit. Can't imagine the other one has a clean bill of health either.

Yeah in just about every interview he mentions that this is the happiest he's been at a club. I think it would have to be silly wages to make him want to leave.

It may we worth keeping an eye on our Jay Simpson situation then, because IF we sell him I would imagine we may well go all out to sign Raynes as ultimately we do need one experienced centre back to complete our squad.

Rumour has it, if we don't lower our wage bill we won't be complying with the FFP regulations and risk a transfer embargo and Simpson is on silly money here.

We shall see.

I assume if you're getting rid of Simpson to lower the wage bill you wouldn't then be offering Raynes a ridiculous contract to lure him away from us? If you don't I can't see any reason for him to want to leave, so many factors seem to point to it making more sense from his point of view to stay.

Well I was surprised we had gone for five central defenders. Six just seems excessive!

Why can't your mega rich owner just put more money in then?
As long as it isn't a loan he can do that under he SCMP rules and here is no need to sell your best players or risk a transfer embargo.

He is on a very very high wage (Estimated at £5k per week) - IMO the highest in the division and clubs right now won't/aren't going to match it - Which is why I'll be suprised if he goes anywhere.

I think 5k a week is not a bad deal for a player that'd make such a difference in this league and arguably the one above too, Reid was reportedly on that, and if we'd replaced him with Simpson I'd be delighted

I guess that's the point. He's a parasite and wouldn't want to just give Orient money.

we've signed linganzi and O'brien on rolling month contracts. linganzi looks like he could be a fairly useful squad player. O'brien was our ex acadamy keeper that we released a few years back so will be cover for forde.

Is Amine injured yet?

According to Clark we are not in the market for him.

I thought that'd be the case. He would be an odd signing for any League 1 team even on a free, let alone paying a fee for him.

He played the back end of the season at Crawley and did not look out of place in a defence that was shipping goals constantly.

Honestly did not look bad but no one is up in arms that we didn't try to retain him.

Just seen that Charles Dunne has signed for Oldham! Good luck to him...and them

Louis Laing signs on load until January, shame it isn't a permanent!

Was great last time he came and helped Hollis out. Hopefully he is to replace Hollis now and the defence will be 50% better.

It's a great signing if he can replicate his form from last time he was here. We definitely needed another centre back.

Wycombe have signed Chelsea's 3rd choice Keeper Jalal Blackman on loan until January 3rd, he's 22 years old and 6ft 6,should be good at catching crosses i imagine.

We were also in talks with him up until last night but that one seems a no-go now due to wage demands. Can't have been that far away because a medical was booked for today.

We've let Sammy Moore join Dover on loan for 6 months, average midfielder at best. Not one to pull up trees and get you promoted at this level. A squad player at best. Hopefully there is a recall clause in there if we needed him.
